I have been making a ice cream cake this way for over 30 years. The cool whip when frozen is so so good. I usually made the cake from scratch so I love this idea

Make yours how you would like. You do not have to follow her recipes exact. Do what makes you happy. Instead of complaining about how she made her cake, make yours and remove a a layer. Simple as that lol
