Hey! You'll find information about shelf life & preservation in both the free partner blog posts for every single formulation I share (linked in the description box below each video) and the free Humblebee & Me FAQ (www.humblebeeandme.com/faq/preservatives/). Happy making!
Hi. I’m your new subscriber:) Omg i’m so happy to have stumbled upon your video! I’m getting into making my own serum after growing tired of spending $80+ on a bottle of Charolette Tilbury that only lasts about a month. You’re a life saver because I was just going to recklessly mix my ingredients (copper, HA, glycerin) together and likely ruin it and waste money. Now I have a templet of what ratios I should use. Btw you have such a calm and kind disposition it gives such a sense of peacefulness.

When I added sodium hyaluronate (1,0-1,3MDa) and hydrolyzed proteins to the same serum I ended up with lots of tiny clumps. I used animal collagen and a vegan keratin with low m.w. and both seemed to react with the hyaluronate. What do you think I'm doing wrong? P.S.: been watching you for years - never caught you saying something that wasn't accurate. Love love love your videos.

I designed this formulation to be as beginner-friendly as possible, so, when made as written the pH of these formulations naturally into a good-for-skin range (5.5-6.5). Hyaluronic acid is not like lactic or citric acids and does not cause a huge pH drop :) Thanks for watching!
Is there any rule of thumb on how many ingredients are in a serum, granted they are all compatible with each other and my skin? There's just so many actives I want to use and not have so many products to layer. I like to wash, toner and or serum then moisturise and spf. It would be nice to take out the toner and serum 😅 I found an all in one serum that is similar to the formula I have been writing out this week, the Resurrection all in one only 142usd! So many actives I thought weren't compatible with each other, seems to be more of a matter if your skin can tolerate it.
Could I put this serum in my hair???
Can i swap distilled water for rose water
Can I use potassium sorbate as a preservative?!
can i use 100% pure hyaluronic acid powder instead?

Hi there I have questions if you could please let me know can i add vitman E to B3 scerm
@HumblebeeAndMe
Жыл бұрын
No. Vitamin E= oil soluble. These serums = entirely hydrous.
Can this be fragrances with either EOs or fragrance oils? What would be a safe amount?
@HumblebeeAndMe
Жыл бұрын
I don't recommend it; an oil soluble scent will require a solubilizer in hydrous formulations like these ones, and these formulations don't include one.

Hi Marie I'm making a gel with UL, H and L molecular weight ha, would I split that 20% 3 ways evenly?
@HumblebeeAndMe
7 ай бұрын
I'd recommend making three separate 1% gels; one with each weight. You are then free to blend them as desired in your formulations rather than being tied to a specific combo. Once those gels are made I'd probably do 6% of one of them and 7% of the other two for easier numbers :) Or just 7% of each as 20% (0.2% overall HA content) is not any sort of maximum.
Can I use optiphen?

I think the phenoxyethanol in Optiphen would have solubility issues in these entirely hydrous formulations.

Can we uze oily skin?
@HumblebeeAndMe

Yes
Hi Marie. I'm not a patron "Yet" I like to follow for some time before I jump in, and speaking of jumping in. I watched your video on making the hyaluronic serum and of course, went right out and purchased the acid, not thinking of the Daltons and ended up with something that has no number, however, the end result is quite thick. So, I made a 900g solution ( I know, I'm a guy, we jump haha) 10g HA, 985g Distilled water & 5g Germall Plus. I think I'm having a math meltdown because I cannot for the life of me, figure out the equation to dilute this minor mess I'm in. Hope to hear from you, thanks in advance, Braxton D
@HumblebeeAndMe
10 ай бұрын
You don't need to dilute what you've made; simply use it as the 1% stock my hyaluronic acid formulations call for :) This formulation has three, and if you look up hyaluronic acid in the free Humblebee & Me DIY Encyclopedia (www.humblebeeandme.com/diy-encyclopedia/) you'll find many more!
0.2% seems low, The Ordinary uses a 2% solution. Also shouldn't we put an antimicrobial such as penylene glycol for safety? What happens if bacteria starts to grow, especially since you are making so much?
