Can I just say that you mentioning the weights, REALLY displays how perspective changes everything. When you thought it was 11lbs, you felt weak, because you felt like you should be able to do more. But once you found out it was 16lbs, you felt so proud and energized to do it again. So, same experience, same weights, same amount of work, but you were inspired instead of defeated.

I really appreciate that you want your kids to stay home as long as they can. Generational familial living has gone by the wayside. I know that my generation may never be able to afford a house and Gen Z is having trouble too. To hear someone actually acknowledge the housing crisis is refreshing.

That’s why I’m letting my daughter stay here as long as she needs to. She is in college and working a full-time job as a manager. I told her she can live here as long as she needs to until these prices on houses calm down. Hopefully that will be soon for everybody’s sake, including my own. I really don’t want her to go out into this world struggling already so she can stay until she’s 50 if she has to.

On slightly damp hands, I sprinkle the salt & then toss that salad thru & thru - then add your dressing. The problem is they keep making hybrids of watermelon trying to make them seedless has also taking away the taste of the old good juicy watermelon we had as kids, try and find a local farm or market that has homegrown watermelon in Florida there should be some good melons there, but better yet grow some in your back yard yes it's easy enough and teaching kids about growing your own. we love your family we are 1 week away from school out for summer here in Wisconsin

  • @amaz21

Since watermelon isn't really in season yet, that spot trick might not work. Any watermelons in the store right now are either greenhouse grown or picked/shipped before they were ripe. The field spot develops as the melon ripens in the field, which doesn't really happen with a grocery store melon.

Oh my goodness Kim, I make those crackers with my sourdough and my family devours them. I love that nifty cutter you swiped from the play dough station. I have something similar for cutting pie crust that I NEVER use. I think now i have a use for it. Yes, sprinkle with salt on top makes them superb. 😂 What i do for cheese. I will purchase a couple of big ole 3lb brick of cheese at our local Amish store, shred it all and measuring out 2 cups per bag, toss them in the freezer. That way I'm always stocked up with shredded cheese. Sprinkle a little bit of flour per bag to prevent it from sticking together in clumps. I even make regular sourdough butter crackers that we love for dips and soups.❤

Hey Kim, maybe something like a generator would be something to think about with the power outage issues. We live in Nebraska and lose power too especially when severe thunderstorms and tornadoes blow through and our generator has been a key componet to keeping everything running if the power goes out. Ours went out 2 summers ago for 4 days so it was clutch for us.

It takes no time at all for wet toothbrushes, toothpaste, wet hair brushes, etc. to mess up the wood in the drawers. I can’t stop giggling over how you pronounced Persian like “Peru- sian”!! If you thought the cucumbers’ variety was from Peru, it would be Peruvian. They are from Persia (how the Greek called Iran). That salad could use some lime juice and red wine vinegar and fresh chopped mint. I would also chop the cucumbers in smaller pieces. We make a salad similar to that but with garbanzo beans.

You can make the homemade cheese crackers with whole wheat flour to make them healthier. Kosher salt or flaky salt on top. Pepper jack cheese works too

Texan here. It's not watermelon season yet even though they're out. My paw paw is a farmer. Their peak season is July to Sept. 😊

I live in a house that was built in 1791. It definitely has charm but needs lots of work. I'm starting to feel like I'd take the space over the charm. I do love my 5 acres though.

You should grow dill. It’s so easy to grow, it grows like weeds 😅. And super cheap

Usually cucumber salads need like a day in the fridge...and salt and pepper...and I would have added onions....and possibly feta cheese

A mom on YT made chocolate donuts out of beans and she made them so often (she said her kids loved them) that it made me want to try them. We hated them! I guess it's an acquired taste.
