Whoa! I remember loving this song when I was just 10 years old! At that age, you don't really know or are interested in the performers themselves, but Now, I'm Amazed at what a Great person that Bobby Sherman's been all these years; he's been a Police officer, a Paramedic, a guy that believed Helping people was Far More Important than being a Celebrity, & it's good knowing that in those days, he was, & Still is Very Appreciative to his fans. God Bless You Bobby!

The song is just not what we are use to. Even then if you broke up with someone you dang about the loneliness, the heart break. This song is over all that and it’s about going back out and trying for love again. People call it bubble gum because of the tune but really , it should be upbeat.

I must admit, I had my first crush (at age 7!) on him, and now I truly realize he was more than just a cute guy, he had a legitimately fine voice for pop songs. Today, I try to listen to current vocalists, who all sing from the throat/nose and sound identical. Their recordings are so over-produced and their voices altered by "sweeteners" and the dreaded auto-tune that there are mighty few of them that could sell a song like this with nothing but a mic and a back-up band. Plus, 90% of the stuff coming out is instantly forgettable crap, barely suitable to fit the actual definition of a song. Thanks for sharing this!

  • @WilliamHenryAlbert

I also find that I listen to songs in the past that I thought of as "naff" and find that I like them because I can hear every word and instrument as opposed to today in that everything is autotuned and over produced and forgettable. In other words, I agree with everything you say.

I was a teen when I was blessed to see him in concert. 8th row tickets! And, I sewed a new dress in a pretty voile fabric just for the occasion, hoping he would spot me in the crowd. Yes, I had HUGE crush on him. Loved him in "Here Come the Brides".

"She wasn't kind, I wasn't smart. I lost my mind, and cut a fart." That was how I used to sing this song when it came out in 1970. I was 7, my two sisters were 11 and 12, and I had to hear this record ten times a day. My dad thought I was funny, my mom used an 18" ruler on me. Oh, the generational differences!!!! LOL!!!!

Just had to say that I made a scrapbook of you when I was 8 with all your pictures and had you all over my bedroom. I'm sure many people have said this to you over the years. How strange it must be for you to live a normal life now and to look back at those years. Anyway I remember you from my youth- I was obsessed with you- that's what kids do. I hope you are happy and well and thank you for those happy memories.

Fuming Riley not only was his coloring gorgeous but he had this perpetual smile. I saw him live when I was 16. The girls were all nuts. I liked the way he looked but his costumes & music weren't my favorite. He acted embarrassed about how stupid the girls acted. He was 28 or something at the time. I heard once he lost part of his hearing from screaming girls & he thought for a time he was going crazy , just wanted out I think. He enjoyed the money I'm sure but the adoration sort of got to him after a while.

Fifty years ago today on March 22nd, 1970, Bobby Sherman's "Easy Come, Easy Go" peaked at #2 {for 4 weeks} on Billboard's 'Easy Listening Top 40'* chart, for it's first two weeks at #2, the #1 record for both those weeks was "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon and Garfunkel, for it's 3rd and 4th weeks at #2, "Let It Be" by the Beatles was in the top spot... And at the time "Easy Come, Easy Go" was at #12 on Billboard's Top 100 chart... "Easy Come, Easy Go" was Bobby Sherman's first of three of his records to peak #2 on the Easy Listening chart, his two other #2 records were "Julie, Do Ya Love Me" for two weeks in September of 1970 and "The Drum" for two weeks in May of 1971... Bobby Sherman, born Robert Cabot Sherman Jr., will celebrate his 77th birthday in four months on July 22nd, 2020... * And from the 'For What It's Worth' department, the remainder of the Easy Listening's Top 10 on March 22nd, 1970: At #3. "Kentucky Rain' by Elvis Presley #4. "All I Have To Do Is Dream" by Bobbie Gentry and Glen Campbell #5. "Temma Harbour" by Mary Hopkin #6. "Rainy Night In Georgia" by Brook Benton #7. "My Elusive Dreams" by Bobby Vinton #8. "Long Lonesome Highway" by Michael Parks #9. "Brighton Hill" by Jackie DeShannon #10. "I Would Be In Love" (Anyway)" by Frank Sinatra

"Kentucky Rain" and "Rainy Night In Georgia" are both good songs to listen to if you are in a solitary mood or feel like you need a good cry. "Riders On The Storm" and the above mentioned songs are good if you are just in a rainy day mood. Bobby Sherman on the other hand puts me in a good mood. I always loved his songs and alot of "Bubblegum" artists like 1910 Fruitgum Co. and Ohio Express. I don't find "Bubblegum" a bad term. I considered everyone from Donny Osmond to Lou Christie to Tony Orlando & Dawn bubblegum because they were all sweet, fun and were a great part of growing up.
