Got that right Jorge
Thanks for this video. I liked seeing the behind the scenes footage as well so we can see how the setup looks like in real life and the natural lighting. The focus on the dog made my day! 😊
I never find this helpful tutorial video in my language. Thanks so much for teaching me this. I love that doggy's part too!!
Thanks bro loved this video, really liked the film light and probably going to pick one up myself.
Thank you!! This was so helpful. I definitely learned something.
Ha!! Loved the bit with the husky dog! Always great to see a bit of humor in videos like this. Overall great work and super informative and helpful!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with the filmmaking community!
Great review and explanation! This light is now on my wish list!
I really enjoyed this tutorial
I'm so glad I turned on bell notification for your channel! its so worth it. Love the content dude. i'm new to photography/videography and learning all this stuff myself :D

Incredible Work ✌️
That huskey was cute, love your content bro, great tutorial!

Haha, that's what I was thinking. Not bad in the least, just evokes a completely different vibe and time of day.
dude, great video. Learned a new thing, unfortunately don't have that light. Thanks!
Dope! Love the tutorial! Subbed!
Very helpful, thanks!
Mac's supervisor at 5:12 making sure we were getting legit info from him was the cameo we didn't know we needed. Haha
Hey Mac, great video! Thank you :-)
Amazing Video Brother. How do I find the practical light you used in the background? Thanks!
Thanks for the video!

Thank you man!
Thanks for the great demonstration. I found a great tutorial on a two light setup. One Tungsten as a fill light, a little more powerful than the one you used, and the same key light you used. Do you normally only use one light or two?
the first one i guess is also appealing it's a high key kinda style.
I know I’m 2 years late but I just came across your video and channel. Thanks for the info on how to expose for the windows for video!
Thx🔥 gooood jobbbb
the thumbs up in the middle of the set up, pretty cheeky 😂👍
thanks man 🔥
Helpful... Thank you
Greaet video bro love it
oh, the adorable dog😃
Thank u for this video. What do u think about sl 150 ? It’s is enough for the KZread video?
I like the final exposure but I thought the soft rim light all around your head from the window was actually really great too and sad to lose it
Subscribed just for the interaction with the dog
Good tips
Dang i had an interview setup this would have worked on last week, but i had never thought about using my nd inside, then there was my b cam which wouldn’t have had an nd to match. If you dont want the shot so darkly slightly over exposed windows can look ight
Good stuff bro

Thanks!
The other option is to gel the windows with neutral density to bring down the level of light coming in. Then you don't need as bright of a key light.
@MacOlink

That’s another option! Unfortunately I don’t have any ND Gels :(
Nice tips Mac. How are you finding the switch to fx6 from Zcam?

I’m in love with the FX6. Such an amazing image 😍
Thank you! softbox is it 90 or 120?
I was trying to set up a shot like this in my office with large windows out to the forest. The real challenge is the light(s) reflected in the window and not matter how much I moved them around , they always reflected in the window. I was hoping that this video had a fix for that. Any tips?
Recommended light stand? As well as soft box? I’m looking at buy a vl150 but don’t know what stand to get
Great tutorial, I did this exact same set-up with a client last week but I only had a Godox SL-60W. I knew the theory behind the shoot, but it wasn't until I exposed for the windows then put on my light that I thought "why is nothing happening?". Cranked it up to 100%, still barely any key light! 😭😭😭 I didn't realise the keylight had to outshine the window light, and for the first time ever, my SL-60W felt completely useless lol. I usually have it at 10% in my room. Now I understand why stronger lights are required for some scenarios!

How did you deal with the problem? Tried something else or let the window overexposed? Just curious.
@usmanmajid7837

@@SHVideografie Yeah I had to slightly bring exposure back up and while the subject wasn't lit as well as I'd have liked him to be, it was enough before the window started to blow out too much. The trailer was actually for a course on death and burial rites, so tbh, the darker mood worked out in my favour this time 😅

@@usmanmajid7837 Thanks for your reply. I'm at the verge of buying a COB light atm. Guess I'll have to pick a 120watt light then.

@@SHVideografie If you can afford it, and depending on what you'll be shooting, having a stronger light will always give you greater flexibility.

Yea I literally purchased the godox ML-60Bi. I loved the light until I told the rep at a store that I’ll be using it for interviews. He told me basically it was too weak in most scenarios, so I immediately returned it and purchased an Amaran 200 for 10 dollars more. That was a much better purchase. Higher wattage for the same price. Unbeatable
Really good, man. What lens you used in this video?

I liked the "before" setup with natural light much much better.

Yeah the after was way too dark. He shouldve overexpose the windows a little bit. Also the rim wasn't visible at all
I will just darken the window with neutral density to keep daylight look (around 12am - 2pm). The After result look scompletely different time (Around 5pm - 6pm)
qute 💕
husky are real model that late for shoot #slapped btw nice demonstration video of how to proper expose target
How do you determine what is a strong light to combat the sunlight?
what is the best softbox for practilite 602 ?
😍😍
Great video! Do you think the SL100 would work, or is it too weak?
@MacOlink
Жыл бұрын
The SL100 wouldn’t be strong enough in this situation
What did you set your WB to?
Would the Godox VL 150 be enough for a mixed lighting situation like this? Indoor use but with window light.
@vollweidermedia6303
5 ай бұрын
Yeah the 150 Godox is for this bright enough
Is it a good light for KZreadrs do you get a soft light that doesn't create wrinkles on the face etcetera?
Do you think a 120watt light will suffice for a shot like this?
What are the camera settings when you are shooting this
cute dog
How do you do this at night. I want the city in the window to be seen without light reflecting on the window..
It's good, but how did you setting camera f18 ?

He used internal Nd filters
Do you have a video of you doing something filmed on the couch? How would you do lighting if the window lighting were coming from the side?

@@MacOlink that would be awesome!
I feel like the rest of the room is too under exposed. I would have bounced something off the ceiling to raise the overall exposure of the room and then sort out my key light.
what's the lav mic you using?

That's ok if you don't mind so bright light shining in your eyes 👁️👁️. Try to record video for 30 min with strong light like this, how you eyes 👀 will feel afterwards?
Can't you just crank up the shutter speed to get rid of light in the window.....instead of ND?
@AlbertJarodIbay
3 жыл бұрын
As a rule of thumb always keep your shutter proportional to your shutter speed by 1:2
@usmanmajid7837
2 жыл бұрын
@@AlbertJarodIbay You're right, but I think you meant proportional to your 'frame rate' instead! 😜 So yes, in filmmaking, once you choose your frame rate (e.g. 24fps) you then double this to select your shutter speed (1/50). Those 2 settings are then locked in. So now you only have ISO and aperture to play with. If you want a blurry background, you'll want to open up the aperture which makes the scene brighter. So now you try to reduce the ISO. But if the lowest ISO setting is still far too bright, you then have to introduce an ND filter.

Make a new video with only: Godox SL200 and no other lights (don't sit near the windows either). Now film yourself.
