Chicken and dumplings were a staple dish when I was growing up --- the only con was my Mother use to use frozen mixed vegetables but of course my fav part was the dumplings 😋

*_Chicken and dumplings is what got me started cooking at age 5! It is my reason for cooking still to this day! Awesome!_*

My grandmother was from Yazoo City Mississippi. I have so many memories of her southern cooking even though those memories were made in Fresno California. Sunday dinners were fried chicken, mashed potatoes and okra. But every so often she made chicken and dumplings. This looks so good, I can't wait to try it. Thank you AB.

Made your chicken and dumpling last weekend with a couple of changes. I did leave out the celery and I pre-seasoned bone-in chicken thighs for 24 hours then smoked them on my kamado grill. I pulled the meat and followed the instructions pretty close from there. It was outstanding if I do say so myself so thank you for posting another outstanding recipe to use a a guide. For the record I even tried the salisbury steak...

Hey AB - wanted to give you an updated comment. 4 days ago, my beautiful Greek wife came down with the flu, which led to the beginnings of pneumonia. She only had one request - honest to God. “Honey, can you make me AB’s chicken and dumplings?” So, I found it in my favorites folder and took care of business. As always, I changed NOTHING. Your recipe 100%. She has been eating it EVERY DAY and is on the mend. Her comment this morning was, “”I’m obsessed with AB’s recipe!” So - thank you AB for this and ALL your recipes. I’m sure you have heard this before, but you are a star in our home.

One of the best chicken & dumpling recipes I’ve discovered on the internet. I have my own way of making this favored dish that I’ve done for years but since watching this video, I’ve incorporated some of your touches such as shredding the chicken with a blender! Genius! It also allows you to use more chicken in the recipe, whereas before I was only putting in as much as I was willing to shred. Right on 🙌🙌

I just got a kitchen I can cook in, so I've just started cooking regularly. I wouldn't say this recipe is easy with how much attention you need to put into it. But for a experiences cook it would be easy. This recipe turned out thoroughly amazing! I made my own chicken broth and added some heavy cream. It was so good 7 servings only lasted two days for two people! Will be making this many more times!

Heyyy AB OH MY GOODNESS! This is definitely one I’m going to try! I made that white bean turkey chili it was sooooo good I’ve never had chickpeas before. I scaled back a little on the heat a bit but added a touch of jalapeño got me a bowl added some sour cream and made some jiffy cornbread. It was OVER FAMILY y’all really need to try that one... thanks again be safe y’all...

I've watched dozens of your videos, and I'm always impressed. But my favorite ones are when you get into that Down South spirit and cook like we do in Mississippi! Not so sure about shredding the chicken in a fancy mixer, but your heart's in the right place and no doubt it tasted amazing. Sometime try rolling out that dough to 1/8" and cut strips for a firmer, chewier option. But thats a minor thing. Good job!!
