It certainly opened things up and looks nice. Keep the old wooden parts they are so ornamental and can be used for other projects to give it a traditional look. Great video.👍♥️

To each their own. If l bought a house with the cable railings, I'd make a video about how to remove it and replace it with what you removed.

I was literally thinking about doing something very similar in my house a couple of weeks ago. Timely video, looks easy enough to tackle on my own!

I saw them install that kind of system on an episode of Ask This Old House and fell in love with it. If i have an opportunity to actually own a house that has a wrap around porch that is going on it.

It really does look 👀 great!

we liked The modern railings after until we saw our children climb on them! Within 1 week of moving in to our new home, we spent $$$ to demolish the whole railing and changed it to the traditional vertical one!

The old railing look fine to me.

It looks phenomenal, but my issue with it is the fact that most insurance (at least, where I live in the region of Quebec, Canada) wouldn't pay if something happened as it is considered a "ladder", so a child could climb up on top of each "ropes" and fall down...

It's all ready been 2 years since the tree house deck thing build??? Time flies

I think the old one looked more solid like could take more weight without wobbling. With the posts embedded. But good show and tell.
