Easy BBQ Pork Spareribs in Power Pressure Cooker XL

Ingredients:
1 rack pork spare ribs cut in 3 sections
1 yellow or sweet onion cut in chunks
2 cups Sweet Baby Ray's Original BBQ sauce (or your favorite sauce)
2-4 tablespoons sauce reserved for ribs in broiler
1 cup water (hot)
1 tsp liquid smoke
Remove membrane from ribs and then cut into 3 sections. Season ribs with preferred seasoning if you want.
Set pressure cooker to Soup/Stew for 45 minutes. Add water to pressure cooker, add ribs, onion and sauce (mix liquid smoke into sauce with some of the water and shake well in bottle). Pour sauce over ribs covering top and sides. Close lid and let cooker come under pressure and cook for set time. Once cook cycle is complete do a quick pressure release. Place cooked ribs on baking sheet. Spread reserved sauce over ribs and then place on middle shelf in oven for about 5 minutes using high broiler setting. Leave under broiler until sauce is caramelized as desired. Enjoy BBQ without the grill.

back in the 70's and 80' growing up. my mom would cook her stews in a pressure cooker. the one she would use had this metal top and when it starts to rattling back and forth really fast then it would let out this loud whistle once i heard that whistle i knew i was about to eat. pressure cookers have come along way. great video

I just made these, and they are great. Yours were a little too falling off the bone for my taste, so I shortened the cook time to 40 minutes. Bought my Power Pressure Cooker Xl at Goodwill the other day brand new for 14 bucks. What do you do with all that good leftover juice that's in the bottom of the pot? Thanks for the video.

Sorry I just saw you message. If using a larger pressure cooker, the time should stay the same. If using the 6qt with two racks you may want to add a few extra minutes. I hope they turned out good for you.

45 minutes too long. I go 25 minutes with 10 minutes natural release otherwise they fall of the bone and you need a fork.

Very nice demo but please don't buy this product! I did and was very happy with the cooking results. I bought mine on 9/2/18 and used it 3 times the first week. I stored it in my closet in it's original box because I don't have cabinet space for it. Brought it out last week and cooked 2 pork roast, "for pulled pork" which came out great. That's a total of 5 times using it. Brought it out again this morning and rinsed the pot, to cook 2 more. I notice shiny spots in the bottom of the pot. On a closer look the coating was coming off in several places. I only used wooden or plastic made for coated pans to remove or stir anything I had in the cooker. Never stored anything in it either. I'm over my 60 day warranty so they can't do anything to help me. I have 7 more roast to cook for a Benefit, guess I'll do it the old fashion way "takes 24hrs" in a crock pot. Guess I'll keep it for canning. My suggestion is to buy one with a pot that's not coated!

Hi Jewett! Thanks for posting this message. Do I understand correctly that you think that the sauce was responsible for eating away the coating from your non-stick pot? Are you certain that you could not have used a scouring pad os some kind and rubbed the bottom a bit too hard trying to remove a few stubborn brown bits?

Not recommended. We used ours six or seven times and then it quit powering on. I called their customer support and since it was past the 60 day warranty time frame, I should just throw it away. I'd never buy this brand again.

Also kinda useless and wasteful to put the BBQ sauce on before it's cooked it's so much better ( my opinion ) to add your sauce only before you oven brown it. A dry rub makes so much more sense before pressure cooking.
