Thank you for this! Probably the easiest method I've come across, and also very easy to follow. The only thing I'd suggest for anyone making MOGRTs is removing the CC Glass effect on the 'reflection precomp' - it adds a lot of rendering time without contributing any noticeable visual improvements.

Just what I was looking. I made 3d text in Photoshop and imported it to AE. but it was static. This is much faster and much better.

thanks I actually need the metal color so I can stop before adding the gold color but I might still need it in case I need it to have other colors. :)

hmmm im not 100% sure what you mean. but try changing the colour of your text? could be just the colour is the same as background? :)

@@mahirjain2672 I found the solution. On the text layer, press the little 3D cube (which you can tick on/off). When you do that, a little box will appear in the buttom of your preview window, which says "Draft 3D". The text should be blue - Press it and you will turn it off. Then you should be able to see the track matte working. Hope i helps.

I tried this step by step and I cant seem to get that gloss. Thn I tried it with a bold text and I got the same effects as yours. I guess the problem is that the art I am trying to make gold has too thin lines.

Ooooh that's very interesting to know! I think thin font should be able to work too, you just gotta tweak the effects settings more... But in glad to hear you fixed it!
