Hi from Colorado. Your desert looks yummy. Great job,Kelly. We are celebrating on 3July because my daughter works on the 4th. We are making BBQ ribs, deviled eggs, mac&cheese, corn on the cob and red, white and blue rice crispy treats. God bless.

We’re making ribs with my son’s homemade bbq sauce! Can’t wait! That dessert is so pretty & cute shirt.

Happy 4th! I am going to a family reunion today and got to see your video while I chopped up vegetables for a tray. Tomorrow we are having a small picnic with fireworks. Enjoy!

We make this same recipe except we use Angel food cake!! So yummy.

I use lemon pound cake cut into smaller pieces and drizzle with raspberry compote. Then layer like Kelly did. Homemade whipped cream, is a must! :)

That looks really good! I didn't do anything for the 4th.

This looks delicious! I make something very similar to this using angel food cake. Another thing I do is mash up some berries (frozen) to use as a "juicier" layer that soaks into the cake, then use the fresh berries to make it pretty. Its always a crowd pleaser!

Looks like it came out great. I've made this a few times. Need to make it again. I usually only put a few tablespoons of sugar in my whipped cream. Still taste sweet & delicious..

I make a very similar recipe, only with a layer of vanilla pudding as well. SO yummy! I'm not very artistic with my desserts, so something like this is perfect! Another idea for trifle - chopped up chocolate bar and chocolate pudding instead of fruit and vanilla pudding. It's always a hit! :)

I make this samething except... I mix my heavy cream, then in separate bowl i mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, splash vanilla then I fold the coolwhip into cream cheese mixture!

I’m working on the 4th, but my parents and I are grilling burger on Monday. We’re going to have our own lil party a day late. 😂😂❤️🇺🇸❤️ Happy 4th of July.

That looks yummy, Kelly. Such pretty colors, too. Can I suggest a handy little kitchen tool you might enjoy? (Maybe you already have it?). It's an off-set spatula. It's like a round tipped knife with a step in it. It's great for spreading when you have to reach down inside a pan or bowl. They come in different sizes and are not expensive. A medium size works for most things. Have a very Happy July 4th! (:

Let it chill in the refrigerator for a few hours and we just used a large serving spoon to scoop out a section of all the layers :)

Yes they are press on by the brand Impress. I found them at walmart. They don't require glue, but they don't seem to stay on as long as the ones that require glue. I still had some left in the package to use so I decided to add a touch of glue to them this time, so we'll see how long they last. Kiss brand is my favorite!

@@asweetbite3935 mine usually stay on for a week or so. I make sure to prep my nail beds good so that they adhere better.

For Saturday my husband and I are doing a barbecue and might have a couple of family members come over.. then Sunday our church is having a barbecue at the park should be a really fun weekend if it doesn't rain they're supposed to be raining all weekend.

Are you in Texas? It’s suppose to rain all weekend in Texas also. Hoping it doesn’t though.

We are going to a cookout at my parents house. They have a pool, so the kids can swim. Their town has a small carnival and fireworks at night. So we will end the night there. But it's supposed to be rainy & in the 60's here in MA 😢 So I guess our plans could be ruined. Of course we had a heat wave during the week but now that it's a holiday weekend we have thunderstorms & colder weather 😑...Hope your family has a great 4th of July 🎆🇺🇲🧨

I’m afraid the cake part would get soggy. I’ve never tried it tho 😊

Heavy cream doubles when it's whipped. I have never used a quart of every cream for any kind of dessert for any number of people. :-)

We r doing fireworks and some food at a relieves home.

Unfortunately I am in bed nursing a horrible sinus cold since Monday! 🤧

It is whipped cream not whipped topping! Whipped topping is Cool whip you have made whipped cream. Cool whip it was around when I was a kid but everybody always made whipped cream especially for 4th of July strawberry shortcake the way you this has been put together with frozen strawberries is a No-No for me. It looks nice but no no. :-)
