Think it would make a difference in video editing having additional VRAM? I didn't notice a difference in 12GB and 8GB.

People need to realize about these entry level cards (4060 and 7600) is that they are 1080p cards. NVIDIA even mentions it on their website about using a 1080p screen. 16gigs of vram for these gpus are a waste as these cards lack the power to drive fps at higher resolutions and settings.

The rx 6800 was designed for 1440p and 4k high plus RT gaming(even thou it’s not great at it) it makes way more sense to have 16 gigs of vram.

the vram isn't a waste for people who do 3d rendering as it requires it people need to realize gaming isn't the only things a graphics card can do

You should but prices up when you show each part. I have a sff i5 6th gen. Can you do a showdown of sff graphics cards so us budget builders can see what to get or avoid.

Man, I love the options for quality cases for sub $100 these days. Brushed aluminum with tempered glass and included fans with tons of airflow. Plus I always felt ATX is the perfect size for a PC if you're not trying to free up tons of space.

the 7600XT is a response to the 4060 16GB that was released. Also, you need to weight the specs against the 6700xt 12GB which has better specs but lacks hardware AV1 encoding.

@@ciexll no I don't do nvidia the 7600xt is the response the 4060 16gb I own a 7600 and it still pound my nephews 3060 12gb into the ground playing wow (the game we play)

Like the rx580 extra, vram can keep the card relevant for longer. But at that point you may as well just get a better card or save some money

the only thing i can see the 7600xt being worth for is if you need to render big NPR scenes on a buget

R5 7500f + used 6800non xt for 4k rasterised gaming,davinci resolve, solid works n UE5 or 4060ti(16gb) for Premiere pro,UE5 n 1440p rasterised & RT gaming

you would be pushing it with 4k even on low settings with an rx 580 it would be pretty much unplayable imo

i feel like games 2-3 yrs from now are gonna be more V-RAM heavy and the 7600xt 16gb is gonna be a great card like the 580 8gb was

I had a 3070 and 8gb was absolutely not enough for it. 12 would probably be ideal for this card but I would rather a manufacturer have too many gigs vs be like nvidia and be short on a lot of their cards

at the price of the 12600kf atm, I'd rather spend a lil more and get the K incase of gpu issues later down the road or gpu issues in general and in this case the K isn't even that much more tbh, you'd have video output rather than none at all

Those extra VRAMS should be use on the higher cards BUT I think it's the compatibility OR Corporations are just greedy if a mid range GPU has alot of vram people might not upgrade on a yearly basis

How about an Intel/ rx 7900 gre build, for those that decided not to go Nvidia at the last minute.

Skull & Bones is a pretty V ram demanding game. Playing on my legion with a 4070 mobile im at 7.8 gb of V Ram playing at 1440p. Im sure I spilled over to system ram. I can play at 4k and I 100% spill over at least 2 to 3 gb.

you can build a 5600x/7800xt build for under 1k. Now I know what your thinking. The 5600x will bottleneck the 7800xt. If you play at 1440p, the difference is negligible. Your losing maybe 7% performance as opposed to use a R5 7600. If we are talking about getting the most performance out of 1k, nothing can beat this build. Still love the videos.

Sure, if the games you play aren't very CPU intensive. More power to you. I tend to err on the side of having a more powerful CPU, since there are far more options in games to lighten the GPU load than there are to lighten the CPU load.

@@brianburke808 Even with CPU intensive games, that pairing goes together quite nicely at 1440p. The 5600x is still a very capable CPU. 99% of games, there shouldn't be any reason to have to dial settings down to accommodate either components. I can understand the future proofing aspect. There is no where else to go with am4 besides the X3D. All i am saying is, if someone is looking build a sub 1k rig that yields the best performance, with all new parts, It would be very hard to beat that build.

A $1k build is easy. At that price point it's all about trying to get even better specs via sales, instead of hoping for a playable PC.

I recommend waiting for rtx 50 series. That way if their performance uplifts are good, buy one of the 50 series, if they are not, then atleast the 30/40 series will drop in price once 50 series is released. Otherwise, I think a 1660 super can still run modern games even if at the lowest settings so surely your 1660 super can handle a couple more months before it retires. Even alan wake 2 is kinda playable(ish) on a 1660 super, you can see benchmarks on youtube

@@user-lk3iv4sd7s well since you said you had some extra cash. If I were you I would upgrade your AM4 motherboard to AM5 because AM4 is becoming obsolete pretty quick. And AM5 will be able to support future CPUs for many years, and it also allows you to use DDR5 ram, which is faster than DDR4. Of course upgrading your motherboard will be very expensive, because not only you have to buy a new Motherboard, but you also have to buy a new CPU and ram. But regardless of whether you are on AM4 or AM5, you can still use your 1660 super with any of those motherboards, although you will probably be GPU bound in most games since AM5 CPUs are pretty new and 1660 super is pretty old. But you'll be able to upgrade it either way when the 50 series gpus comes out. Oh and if you have the budget, I highly recommend the Ryzen 7 7800x3d CPU because it gives amazing performance and incredible power efficiency for the performance it gives. Oh and about the bottleneck, if you're playing a GPU intensive game or you cranked your settings to Ultra, you'll most likely be GPU bound. But if you're playing a CPU intensive game or esports game, it maybe a CPU bottleneck, especially if you crank your settings down to low.

@@jasonzhu9742 yeah that makes sense I think I’m going to build an am5 pc and just make another PC with the am4 parts.i have noticed some games use more cpu and others not as much. Right now helldivers 2 and the finals run like 90 percent on my cpu so I was thinking that I need a better cpu. far cry 6 HD texture pack requires 11gb vram which is why i want a 16gb card. i only have 8gb and can't run it.

The 7600 XT is going to age well down the road I think. It might not be the legacy card that the 6700 XT is shaping up to be but maybe a budget legacy card.

That's not bad for the price. I bought a PC for $300 that didn't come with a PSU or any storage. What I did get was an MSI Z370-A PRO Motherboard, an i7 8700k, a GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB DDR4 RAM, a Corsair H100i 240mm AIO cooler, and an open air case with 7 RGB fans. I already has a PC so I took the PSU and storage from it to complete the newer build.

I didn't understand. Why is it always Intel? The socket is at its end days, plus the Ryzen 7600 offers better gaming performance on a newish socket that has a big future ahead of it. And I ain't trying to pick on toasty's here, mad build channels are doing this. Maybe if Intel cut there 12th gen processors (which they should have 2 gens later) this would make sense. You can fit a much better performance system on the AM5 platform for $1k. This gives you a better upgrade path and you want to future proof your build.

how come, if you try all kinds of hardware, havent used any of those minisforum embedded motherboards? theres a ryzen and an intel one, those look fine for gamer-case, id say(and i wanna see how they perform!!) Thanks for the vid

Has enough VRAM to go the distance. But does it have the rasterization performance? I think not. I think a used 3060 would be a better choice. Same performance; less money. We are just at the point where 8GB is not going to be enough for 1440p moving forward. In fact, you may start needing more than that for 1080p sooner than you might imagine. I think 12GB is the right amount for a GPU with this sort of rasterization performance in 2024 because, by the time you need more than that, you are likely to be woefully insufficient on your rasterization performance and be about as useless as a 16GB RX580 is today.

a b760 mobo with K procesor....why? you could get a better and cheaper z690 mobo... And a cheaper 1tb ssd + a cheaper pc case, then you can afford a better GPU that wouldnt bottlneck the CPU

Youll never use that much vram lol. with a 4070 and only 12gb at 1440 i have yet to max it out. And thats a 1080 card, even more useless. Interesting though from what iv seen, AMD cards for whatever reason seem to use more vram. Anyone chime in with why that is? i can run overdrive mode and still be under my 12.

The 7600xt is the worse graphics card on the planet. Not in terms of performance; but in terms of its performance relative to its counterpart the rx 7600. They get EXACTLY the same fps on most games. The 7600xt is simply too slow to utilize that extra vram. Look at some of the benchmarks of the 7600 vs the XT
