epiphone needs to make an RD

They have a lee malia one, but its 800 bucks and pretty ugly
My favorite guitar shape nowadays
I own the white and sunburst model, I have been a Eastwood guitar fan for a long time and the fact that they ask the public which models they would like to made next is way cool. I own several of their guitars that i have a rack just for them. Great review and demo, honest and forthcoming as always.
Nice!
THE CYCLE.....Hey Fluff the new album is in constant replay on spotify!!!! Love it man!!!! It crushes!!!
Fluff you are really killing it as of late man. You are really pioneering a new kind of tone. Something that has a ton of sustain and sounds massive. While it sounds huge and flowing, it is still a very percussive sound. Also it is not a very harsh, high-mids heavy amp, but still cuts through the mix. Keep at it fluff \m/
Awesome man. Kinda relieved to hear a review that you didn't just love everything about. Nicely done.
I played one of these at a local guitar shop (it was the burst colorway) and it sounded incredible. I played it through a Vox 2x12 combo amp and I was able to get some very nice clean tones. Using the guitar's boost switch I was also able to get some super heavy distorted tones as well. I definitely think I will be picking one of these up it the near future.
My favorite part is where you're just jamming. It can be tough to get a feel for a guitar when it's in a full mix, or when you're playing a full riff. Thanks for the vid!
Col demo, and the main riff is one of your best!
Yeah Fluff! Been hoping to see a demo of this for a long time. Very interested in these.
God fluff I'm really in love with your tones in the intro and demo. Must learn thy secrets lol.
So it's basically what would happen if Epiphone made an RD.... hm.
My guitar teacher back in the early eighties had a Gibson RD Artist, loved that guitar, whish I could afford one but i miss my teacher and good friend even more...... RIP, Stephen Grimstead, you are missed!
beautiful... my dream guitar is a sg standard in that color
That sounded amazing man, good job!
Totally remember the originals! Beautiful video
thanks for saying what you didn't like about the guitar. I like reviews alot that are honest about what can be seen as the pluses and minuses.
Very cool guitar. It sounded a lot like a phoenix-200 i have in the clean demo.
What a beautiful beast!
That's such a badass riff!
My Eastwood Sidejack baritone has roller saddles. They are great.
nice!! wouldn't mind trying this sucker out and THANK YOU! for telling us how much it costs
I´m in love with that guitar...
wow really awesome riff
Thx for the honest review!! I hate it when some people do gear reviews "cough... Chappers, cough" and it's so blatantly obvious that Ray Charles can see it, that it's all sales and marketing for products. I appreciate how you point out the good and the bad as per your opinion.
The "chorus" of the demo song reminds me of Twilight princess' kakariko theme. Also the guitar is nice and warm and of course cool looking 😉

+Austin Washington Haha, you're exactly right, I heard the same thing! By the way, you may like the song on my channel, A Shadow Left By Time; it's an epic metal tribute to the Hero's Shade from Twilight Princess. ;-)
I know you're a Recto guy but my favorite tones from your vids come from the 5150/6505's. Great vid
Do these guitars suffer from neck dive if you use clip lock straps?
Just picked up the black one yesterday
You should do a shootout between all of your RD style guitars
The RD artist has always been my dream guitar and this seems like a great alternative. Only complaint is that the headstock is ugly as sin lol

find someone to cut it like PRS head stock for you
luxurious sound:)
The riffs in this video are just fucking amazing
super cool way to demo a guitar!
Loving the Hovercraft shirt. Can you see yourself getting a Hovercraft amp at some point? Of course living in Portland makes me biased but I love those amps.
Listening to fluff say "it's a thin D" is the perfect maturity test, I couldn't stop laughing, looks like I'm still twelve 😂
Fluff! Although your riffs are always tasty. This track is especially wonderful! Well done, sir.
Now make a cover of a ghost song with this thing:D

Nice review, I love your Gibson RD's, just a couple of quick questions, how is the balance body/headstock wise? and are the frets dressed well at the ends of the fingerboard?
liked it.. I had an original in Black with gold (flaking) hardware in the late 80s. it detuned really well. sadly nicked. great guitar
what's the first demo? I REALLY like the overall stile. even this track itself is awesome. got to find some similar bands
Hey I love this track, is it available to listen anywhere?
So glad you did a demo...dare I say?...review of this axe. It's a tribute...not an investment. I still want one. Tuning stability plus might be due to the lack of angle from the nut to the headstock...like Gibbys have and PRSs don't. It's exceptionally good to get a hands on opinion of these guitars tho. I've been wanting a Jonny Ramone clone for a minute...
this song sounds massive!
Sounds massive!
I like the white... But probably gonna just wait for yours and maybe refin it Ghost Alpine White... But I do also really like the silverburst... Maybe I'll get two?
nice vid and guitar fluff
Just ordered a used one in sunburst. I could tell from the pics that it is BEAT UP. But I didn't care...always wanted an rd and I'm fairly certain I can iron out any issues it may have.
Have you ever tried a diamond amp such as a nitrox? I'm ordering one this week and wanted to know your thoughts
i both love and hate the head stock...... awesome demo!
looks smooth and riffy;)
fucking awesome sound and music... like always.
Is it possible that any tab could be made for any of the Rest, Repose songs? Really want to learn them
How's the reach into the higher frets on this sort of guitar?
What do you think of the new Ibanez Iron Labels? I just picked up a RGAIX7FM (Ibanez needs better names) and i fell in love with it. The new Dimazio Fusion Edge pickups to me personally are the first time i played a guitar with stock pickups that sounded too good to really need a upgrade. I know you were at namm so i felt like maybe you had some awesome input or maybe your not an ibanez dude. Anyway thats for any input, Cheers!
Have an opportunity to buy one of these for a very low price, with a bigsby, but it has p90s.. I’ve never even played p90s before.. is it a mistake?
Where can I find this track that you play on this video. It's awesome.

toastyson it’s a Rest Repose song called The Cycle
Would this feel "cheap" to someone who's used to playing Gibsons and guitars like Schecter's higher level Korean guitars? I love this, and a Gibson RD is out of the picture right now (though O would love a Hyperion when it's released)
@nemesisfamily7109

I own 3 Gibsons man i love them and i sometimes believe i own 4 but then i read Eastwood on the headstock. The Rd Artist is worth it man. Find one used you wont regret it.
Dude u should do a demo of those diamond guitars like the hailfire models they are similar to the fire bird and rds😏
So i like offset body guitars this one looks a awful lot like a hagstrom phantomen. So for 3 to 400 more you can get that one so how do they compare? Is it worth the extra? I have a nice super sweede n its very nice to play. I kinda find my 700 dollar guitars just dont feel like my 1000 dollar ones
Hey Fluff, do you actually know how much the guitar weighs / more direct comparison? I'm interested in this guitar since I've always liked RDs, but given my back and knee problems, weight is a huge factor in being able to play a guitar or not.
shootout/comparison video between this, your signature and your gibsons on the way?
@JimJamFlim
8 жыл бұрын
+Ryan “Fluff” Bruce Shootout between this and EVERY GIBSON EVER MADE. xD
How do you come up with such cool riffs?
Does it come in lefty?
What is your opinion on non-tone wood guitars like the 660 and gittler brands at NAMM this year and this whole tone wood debate in general?
Hey Fluff! Why do your lead/gain tones sound so good (and they really do), and not so much for the clean ones? Some of your amps have great cleans, right? Thanks!
I'm a bass player and therefore have little to no idea what guitarists like about guitar tones, but I really liked the way this one sounded. I'd even prefer it to Fluff's usual tone, which is also great but always sounded a little thin to me. This guitar sound had a little more edge and grunt to it than what I'm used to hearing from Fluff. I guess it's a personal thing...
What do you think or know about Hall of Tone pick ups?
When's the signature coming out?
Thanks for the review. I got a PRS Tremonti and looking for a change. Is this worthy of the upgrade?

I see your post is pretty recent. They've marked their RDs down to $449.00. I just recently bought one secondhand, which I really enjoy, but if I knew I could have bought new for a simillar price I might have waited. shop.myrareguitars.com/collections/everything?page=2 That is Eastwoods clearance site.
Are you using a sample of finger snaps for the kick?
I wonder if this has neckdive similar to an SG?
cool riff
cool song
So Eastwood RD Artist, Yamaha RS620 or Ibanez RC720?
Maybe it's good to mention the case only comes with it if you had a pre-order on it, not when you buy it now.
Fluff, would you still recommend this guitar?
So, for somebody that wants an RD-style guitar but has an effed up back the lightness would be a good thing, right?

have you still got this axe?
Hey fluff are you trying to grow a ZZ top beard?
do you prefer the 5150 over 6505?
Fluff, I know they use Gibson guitars but I couldn't help but think Ghost BC when you were playing the RD.
No di files ? :3
So... LTD Phoenix 1000 VS. this guitar? How are the pick ups for modern hard rock? The pickups sounded a little vintage.
So the basswood makes it super light compared to the Gibson RD's...would you say that the overall tone is hindered by that?
So this one or Hagstrom Fantomen?
Is that a song you're playing to when you first started the demo in the video, or just a backing track you made?
What is the song in the intro
What would you estimate the weight?
Cool
how do you make that palm muting sound?
