Growing up in America as an Asian sucks. I tried so hard to copy western makeup from my fellow non Asian peers and it never ever looked good. Around 2000s the online Asian community were secretive as heck about their eye makeup. So I never knew how they did it. The eastern eye makeup you did is 1000% legit. I truly feel like it’s made for me. 😭idc if the lashes are time consuming, the confidence you get from it is on a entirely different! My mid face look like it shorten cuz of the contouring of the under eye fat.

The douyin style makes you look more youthful! I usually do this look, mixed with the width, length and colour of the Western eyeliner as I have a big face and small, downturned eyes. For lashes, I use fishtail individual lashes or a spikey strip lash :) Mixing the styles to suit your facial features is so fun

so beautifully filmed & edited as usual!! love how u explained the different eyeliner techniques as well💗 i really like both styles but prefer wearing the eastern style because of the emphasis on lower eyelid makeup! it's more visible since i wear glasses all the time💞

I love how the eastern side for sure! I find it quite harsh to do the western side for everyday

I wish I could get away with brown liner, but I have the blackest hair so it looks weird. Plus my eyes turn downwards so the sharpness of black helps lift my eye, unlike brown, which is too soft to create the illusion of a lifted eye.

Nice video and I'm one of very few guys probably who watch these :D The western look is fine for me but I can appreciate the effort in the Eastern one too and how the triangle area of focus changes as you said. The editing for the partnership part was cool too but I kinda skipped through that as I personally just wear glasses lol

I usually soak a cotton pad with micellar water and hold it on my eye while pushing my lashes upwards. After like 10 seconds my makeup comes off. If there’s more product, just go in with a q tip and more makeup remover

You can get eye wash products that help. Also many optometrists sell eye safe makeup remover products. I personally take a high quality qtip very gently along the waterline, then use an eye wash rinse, and then put in my eyedrops to help with dry eyes. It works pretty good for me and my eyes are very sensitive.

i use an oil-based makeup remover on a cotton pad to remove my eye makeup first (i also let it sit on the eye for a few seconds first so the makeup can start melting off before i wipe), and then go in with a q tip on the waterline after (the leftover oil makes it easier to remove). then, i flip the q tip to the other side and use water to remove anything left in the waterline/lashline and use another cotton pad with water to wipe the eye again to remove all of the oil/melted makeup!

It’s interesting how both sides try to do the opposite of their typical eye shape, eastern makes the eyes look bigger and western makes the eyes look smaller 😲✨
