Eastern Cape farmers bare the brunt of African Swine fever

Farmers in the Eastern Cape are counting their losses due to the African Swine fever that has hit the province. Affected areas in the province include the Nelson Mandela Metro, Amathole and Sarah Baartman Municipalities.
This outbreak will have a devastating effect on exports.
The hardest hit are small-scale farmers who lack knowledge and expertise to deal with the outbreak. Currently the is no vaccine to the disease.
