Thanks for sharing, and Happy Easter to you, Webglider! When I was a child in the 1970s my dad bought a pianola, and for about a year we played it endlessly until it broke down and he never bothered to get it repaired. I still have the boxes and boxes of rolls, and nothing to play them on!

I have had a look on the internet and yes it's amazing how many are still around. Alas I don't have the room in my tiny flat, but it's always been my ambition that one day I would get one. I need a sort of dating agency whereby I could get together with a pianola owner who could look after my rolls and enjoy them, and I could come and play them as well whenever I wanted!

Sounds like a good plan. It's unfortunate that buildings aren't like they used to be, huge doors and much more floor space. The biggest difficulty with these things is getting through narrow doorways, and moving them on stairwells (impossible in some instances). Yes, there are thousands of them still available, they did build millions of them in the '20's. I hope your dream is realised one day, and you can have your own player piano again.

Happy Easter to you too. You can buy working player pianos off eBay almost continuously. Not terribly expensive either. It's a shame not to be able to play your music.
