Easter Hymn:Jesus Christ Is Risen Today
I got the chance to play this landmark A/S after the noon recital while in Salt lake. Big thanks to Dr.Clay Christiansen Sr. for being so generous with the organ!

Clay Christiansen is one of the most talented and kind maestros to ever touch the keys. Always helping to share his talents to help others learn. Well done!
I'm a 70 year old organists..and have been listening to, and a fan of the Tabernacle organ since I was 4 years old.... Both of their organs are magnificent...
Dr. Christiansen was very kind in allowing Ty Peterson to play this great ORGAN. Some Organist are very selfish and will not do that... amazing!!!

@@charlespatsky7060 As a retired Pastor it's obvious that NO instrument in the church belongs to the Musician or the Minister. That goes without comment. As an Organist, I am also well aware that the Organ needs to play to keep the pallets and dust and etc moveable. You should know this and you didn't

Yep! The Audio is pretty good. Both 32' foot stops are drawn at the very end!
What an honor to play this in the Mormon Temple on such a great organ. As a side light when Sir Arthur Sullivan of Gilbert & Sullivan fame was passing through Salt Lake on his way to California in the 1880's, he was invited to do the same. You keep good company....!!!

This is not an LDS temple, it's the Conference centre at Temple Square
I had the joy of playing the beast, and the conference center organ over the summer! Such a joy.

Thank you for sharing these wonderful moments with the rest of us!!
Sir your master is near I know him he is the old and marvelous organist
This is almost exactly like the organ in the church that I grew up in, and this is the last hymn played on those bright, springtime Easter mornings right after the sermon, as the sunlight comes streaming in from the stained-glass windows in the south. And, it's always that last verse that the organ plays at it's loudest, so that when the song stops, the entire sanctuary still echoes with the final glorious chords! Thanks for the memories! †🌤️†🌷†

That organ is so beautiful!!!!
When I visited The Tabernacle some years ago, Dr.Christainsen took the time out of his busy day to give me a tour of the organ and offered me the opportunity to play this glorious instrument.

How did you like hearing the sound come out a second after hitting the keys? That’d be so hard to get used to. Especially if you’re like me who plays by ear.😉
Pulling out the stops is one way of getting your exercise. This sure is beautiful!!
I can’t stop watching this video... just the introduction to the hymn is beautiful. So fluid, so smooth, so sweet. I’ve heard so many choppy versions of this - yours is wonderful. Praise God. Thank you!

Very beautiful playing of a favorite Easter morning hymn. I am an Organist too and love playing this hymn.
Bravo!! How fun to have run into this video on the eve of Easter 2021. :) I know this thrill!
Thank you for sharing. It is a fabulous instrument, and I was privileged to get to play it in 2018.
Wow simply beautiful !!! I'm going to play this hymn for Easter but on my keyboard. I've not seen this magnificent instrument! We don't have this type organ where I live.
Absolutely magnificent! Thank you!!!

a legend in his own mind maybe, working for a cult organization
Anyone remember when VIRGIL FOX played the tabernacle organ and against Schreiners admonition of using the FULL ORGAN pedal, Virgil used it anyway and the next day, Schreiner ordered workmen to screw that pedal shut!!! Our now deceased church choir director/organist/pianist, Milton Baer, had the privilege of playing this organ at a conference in Salt Lake City! Such a memory.
Very nice, Ty! Loved it!

Beautiful performance on a magnificent organ! But, who was filming this? Not so smooth lol. 😂
I'm sure the duplicate organ at Temple Square is great but it just doesn't compare with organ and majestic acoustics of the old Tabernacle.
Is this at the LDS general conference center?
Much too choppy. More smoothness and it would have been just beautiful. And please push the keys all of the way down, not just partially.

Know me do you even play the organ?? It’s NOT like a piano that the harder you press the keys the louder it is. You don’t have to pound on an organ keyboard. It plays no matter how soft or “far down” you push he keys.

@@lorirose9301 ...unless it's a tracker, but those are god-awful, obsolete beasts that should stay in museums and history books. Maybe that's a bit extreme, but I have a personal hatred of playing tracker actions, so I'm biased. The great Mormon Tabernacle organ would be outright impossible if it were limited to a tracker action. Thank God Aeolian-Skinner had some sense!
