I have jotted down a few names of those in the film. The man at the start is Paul Mowforth who had joined EMAP from the Peterborough standard. His title was (I think) news editor. The news conference at 34 seconds is chaired by J.B. Cooper, the Editor-in-Chief. Facing him, left to right: Jimmy Oakes (Photographer), Alan Curling (Sport) and Peter Sutton (Chief Sub) with Paul Mowforth joining them. At 2 minutes, the girl on the right is Cynthia (don’t know her surname). Interviewing the fireman is Philip Ellis. At 2 mins 9 secs is sub-editor Brian Cox. At 2 min 23, Peter Unsworth (features writer, right) is talking to Alec Ames, then manager of the Odeon Cinama. At 2 min 25 on the job chief reporter Dave Routhorn and chief photographer Geoffrey Heighton. At 2min 45, the camera pans right, catching Hugh Gayler (Courts and General), don’t know the next few but there’s Philip Ellis typing away and me (Robert Charteris) in the corner. There follows a close up of Hugh taking copy, Phil again and a bit of my face. Then Peter Unsworth sizing a photo. At 3 min 29, one of the front office Monica. At 3min 55, Geoffrey Heighton again. At 3min 58, the subs’ desk, with (left to right) Brian Cox, not known, the back of Russell Plummer (Sport), Peter Sutton and David McNaughton. At 4min 05, Frank Law working on the Citizen and Advertiser. Don’t know the names of anyone in the Readers Department. Jumping now to 7min 33, the man on the right is Derek Broughton, who was in charge of the composing room. At 7 min 53, Mick Banham, a golfer and Beatles’ fan with who I had an argument about the merits of the song “I feel fine”. I recognised quite a lot of other faces, but can’t recall their names. I worked on the Telegraph and the sister-paper the Citizen and Advertiser from January 1964 to August 1967. After a year on the Hull Daily Mail, I emigrated to Australia which I worked for the Sydney Morning Herald and the Australian Broadcasting Commission (as it then was) where for many years I was one of the Chief Sub-Editors of the national radio news. I now live in Perth, Western Australia Hope this info is of interest to subscribers. PS: Up the Posh!

I wonder if I'm not alone in hoping to see footage of my long departed Dad ? Sadly he wasn't immortalised in this film.

You were not alone. So sorry you didn't see your Dad. I was excited to see mine as the photographer dashing through the door.
