Easy to follow and thorough step by step tutorials do it yourself (DIY) to help you with your broken lawn and garden equipment including snowblowers.
I do my best to teach you how to easily diagnose problems the fastest, quickest and most efficient way with real repairs beyond just replacing a spark plug. These tips are for both the homeowner and shop owner.
Whether it be a handheld, two stroke, two cycle engine like a chainsaw, weed eater, weed wacker, string trimmer, grass trimmer, line trimmer, hedge trimmer, strimmer, brush cutter, leaf blower, or four stroke, four cycle units like a lawnmower, wood splitter, lawn tractor, snowblower, pressure washer, generator or a ride on mower that needs parts installed or replaced, I’m your go-to guy.
My favorite brands of spark plugs are NGK and Champion and are the ones I recommend.
I’ve been a small engine mechanic for many decades and also run my own repair shop so my videos are loaded with tips and tricks that I have learned and want to share with you. You will also find many tool and product reviews from top brands on my channel as well.

I typically use Silicone Spray to make sure that it sticks with minimal debris attacking it and sticking. Great Video Boss!
Great advice (as always). Clear and simple explanation. Thank you.
Good morning my friend hope your well.. good video.. and nice saw.. take it easy mate
I wanted to thank you for the video tip you had previously given on sealing open tubes of caulk and construction adhesive with Vaseline. You have saved me a bunch of money, aggravation, and trips to HD. One tube of caulk now lasts for months and multiple small jobs. Well done!
Thanks for the video! Just watched it today because I had this problem on my 026. Worked exactly as you demonstrated in the video.
Nice blower too.. and a good tip on how to do it without removing the pull cord
Thanks for the great info! Your videos are always so helpful!
Good Morning DB73, Educational videos are the *** Bomb *** Thanks fer sharing !!.
Thank you for sharing all of your videos enjoy watching
Worked flawless! Thanks brother!
I am glad you gave us that tip and I may be having that problem on an older saw which I finally gave up on until now. I will try that see if it solves that problem. I have newer saws which I keep having a problem with cranking and have to try getting them cranked and running and getting some use out of them as they have been sitting since getting them back from the repair shop. So far I have had to depend on my battery powered saw to trim limbs, and brush with and it is getting too much use while the other saws have been collecting dust. I thank you so much for sharing this tip with us and I wish you and your family a great weekend and new week, Dony.
Another great video. I usually take out the model plate and spray on the four holes that go directly to the spring house. No need for tools.
Hey Don great repair. Nice way of fixing the recoil without taking the recoil apart! Take care brother
Always clear and we'll explained. I don't even own a chainsaw but I still like watching the videos.
Finally a repair video by someone who actually uses their tools! Love it.
Saved me a trip to the repair shop many thanks
Good video keep up the good service very helpful thanks
Excellent video! I never knew it was that simple and easy. I didn't think junk could accumulate into that spring. I'll never forget this fix!!

Always good clear info! I have the same saw, I'm going to wake it up by replenishing the oil and fuel and clearing the little screen. Any advice?
You forgot to mention the Stihl model disc plate comes off...little hole behind that for spray too.

I just purchase a 1976 st320 snow thrower.2 stage it starts 1st pull.
Thank you for sharing. Sometimes the spring is flat worn out.

You should check that the pulley will come to the end of its rope before it comes to the end of the spring travel before reinstalling back on any equipment.

@@woodys.lasaswoodsons.3068 Yes, I have a recoil video where the spring is backed off one rotation from maximum travel to install the pull rope.
Hey Don any chance you could do an updated shop tour? Thanks in advance!
Pop the center cap off use the hole to lube the spring ...
Some of the Stihl products you can pop off the orange circle and have direct access to the spring without taking the side cover off.
personally for me if i if am i coming into contact with plastic and retractable metal or steel i would often use silicone spray as it won.t wear out the plastic as easily compared to a thicker or heavier oil lubricant like WD.40 etc but yeah it all depends on the weather and area you live in etc
Do I preform same procedure if my pull rope is hard to pull
Suggestion: blow out the gunk that created the issue with compressed air, after the penetrant has worked its way loose.
Does this work for a lawnmower? My Honda mower does same sticky thing
Can you Rebuild a echo 355T
Mine cluncks when Im pulling the cord and won't let me pull it all the way out cause the cord locks up half way thru the pull. It retracts just fine. What do you think is the problem?
Think it could be a cam can you help I am a small engine stihl repair tech in Florida

Hey, do you have any recommendations or even better, affiliate links to online parts dealers? Got a new used tractor and leaf vac, and I've got a little list of parts to pick up for it and for my old one to rehab it before selling.

Kinda makes me wanna spray every pull start I have just to get ahead of it. To easy to ignore.
Does that saw even have compression? It looked really easy to pull the rope

This happens to every machine I own.
Wow what a tiny saw
Stihl does not recommend the use of WD-40 for lubrication. It is a solvent and good for cleaning but you really need a light oil in there.
I don't like lube becuse it promotes dirt but thats me
Muck and old grease, lack of servicing for years perhaps?.

exactly
Wd40 is only good until it dries up
I like Ace Hardware Lube-E. I use WD-40 very little as it is designed as a water displacement product and gets sticky, leaving a residue behind. Yuk! Too many other good products on the market. NEVER, NEVER, use WD-40 on firearms.
