Great tutorial. I understand where that user is coming from when it comes to tutorials. While many photography principles remain the same regardless of equipment, it does make some tutorials less accessible when you see someone do a product photography shoot where 8+ broncolor or profoto studio strobes, a ton of light modifiers, before finally telling you that gear doesn't matter. Your tutorials use proper equipment where needed, which keeps it accessible to all while not compromising on quality. It is rare to find teaching like that these days and makes this youtube channel one of the best available for photography.

I'm first??? I mean, besides Andrew. This is the first time. It's such a popular channel, I'm usually way down the list. Well, now for the important stuff - I gotta watch the video. EDIT: WOW! I learn new things every time I watch your videos. The flashing torch light is genius! When you walk into a jewelry store, you'll see lots of tiny spotlights on the ceiling shining on the jewelry to make it sparkle. Your idea is doing the same thing. Very clever! I just recently started making jewelry, so thins will come in handy. Thanks!

Being creative in a fun way if I may add 😍😍😍

Great video always learn something new when I watch your videos, please can you remember not all of us are still using Canon and Nikon switched to mirrorless three years ago as the Olympus was smaller and pro lenses so sharp, and love live view cannot look back unless its to use old film cameras that I like as much as classic cars.

WOW. How much time I’ve spent in lockdown due to Virus and thinking/ trying to make a photo out of my Wife’s jewellery. Flowers, garden and even cutlery but bombed out on every one. So I gave up trying. A bloody failure. You have shown me how simple it can be if my head is screwed on correctly. I will try again tomorrow. Thank you very much. Hi Andrew. I'm new to flash photography, and I've been learning from your tutorials on KZread, and they are great! I have to ask you because I see in this video that your photos look blue out of camera, (this could be because I'm viewing your video on KZread) and when I take photos using flash, my photos look blue or red. My question is when using flash, do photos look color correct out of camera and then you must color correct afterwards?

If you already have an image with black background, why didn't you use photoshop for the white background?

there is a rule in our studio.... if you can do it during a SHOOT, avoid having the editing department having to do extra works.... that habit carries on till today. You can... but shooting it with white in during shoot will be nicer.... good suggestion; time for a Tutorial to find out.

I can follow most of your technique but one thing,using normal flash to high speed sync.😩

terribly sorry but i had to skip a few of ads as they were longer than your videos. i've put up with the first 2 ads but with the other 4 would have made me watching 25-30 minutes of ads. it's worst than been quarantine sitting through them, hope you'd receive something from yt though. excellent tutorial always! 👍🏼

"sir, we did not ask KZread to put TWO ads at the front. We only put 2 ads in the middle. This tutorial is FREE, and we get paid very little for ad monies, while being stuck at home with NO SHOOT can be done during this COVID19 pandemic. I hope you are compassionate enough to realize that these ad monies, though little, do help put foods on the tables of all my employees. Is your country undergoing strict curfew yet? We have been in curfew for 20 over days now. All 10 of my co-workers are working from home, making tutorials for KZread and e-learning that earns very little for close to 1 month now. Sir, with all due respect, I am pretty sure, some ads here and there won't be HARDER than quarantine & seeing some of my fellow photographer friends losing their jobs and running out of savings money to put food on the table for their families. I dread they read this, sir. That said, thank you for the "excellent tutorial always" comment."... looking at things, i think the curfew will last till end of MAY 2020." - with love & compassion, from Andrew, and representing all my 10 co-workers in Malaysia.

Beyond Photography i hadn’t realised you could request ads for your videos, i thought yt decisions before they pay you. i normally go through the ads in supporting the creators but lately yt decided to play longer & longer ads that seemed to go forever, some are enough to skip the videos all together yes sadly we’re all in the same boat, i’m pretty sure where you are it’s in a better situations than we are here in cambodia, it’s crippling the poor like most of southeast asia. we’re yet to lockdown, already people are taking the effects, let’s hope it’ll be over soon edit: in better position
