    Your video really made my day! I was taught at an early age to value sharp tools and HOW to sharpen tools. The first pair you held reminded me of my grandma's secateurs. They were always razor sharp and she was pretty particular who she would allow to use them. When you were done, you wiped them clean and gave them a couple drops of oil and put them back where you found them. I am trying to impart these skills and mindsets to my grand children. Thank you for such a lovely video. I love your teaching style...Have a blessed day

    I wish I always remembered (or made the effort) to clean, sharpen and oil my secateurs but I'm one of those terrible folk who puts them down and then forgets. So glad I taught Kate to sharpen them, it's normally her who does this now - saves my bacon :D

    I use a stone given I use it constantly to keep my knives sharp. The deadliest item in any garden or kitchen is a dull knife or edge. Then again, I was taught how to sharpen chisels to the point where they're good for shaving off whiskers. 😅 Those are great, but definitely need a sheath.

    Handy tool, thanks. I just purchased this year a pocket sharpener. I started with a Fiskars file. It’s ok, but not sure of longevity. The multi you have is nice to get far back on the blade where the real cutting action happens. Before the pocket file we have multi coarse wet stones and a hand held with a V. Neither are easy to use on pruners while bolted. It snowed here in Wisconsin, US last night and this morning. We are at the point of it’s pretty now, not pretty fed up.😅

    @@eliandkate not quite yet. For me it’s February, March and April. Big surprise today was reviewing seed stash to see if I needed anything while cyber Monday sales were still on and came across a box of seeds I almost forgot about again. The first time I found them I was finally clearing out seed starting stuff from the house. Oh Wow 🤩 I am so excited because I forgot all these wonderful varieties in this box. Thanks for the video. I got that same multi sharpening tool but unfortunately my favorite Fisker pruners don't open wide enough so the shapener can only reach about 3/4 of the blade (not the part I use the most). I know I can get the little sharpening stone tool to do it by hand but I don't have much faith in my ability to maintain a consistent angle to sharpen it correctly. I was hoping to find something smaller with a set angle that can reach more of the blade without taking my pruners apart (I don't know that I can anyway). I've searched and found nothing so far, do you have any other suggestions??

  • @eliandkate

    @eliandkate

    Can you save Potatoes that haven't ripened for seed next year, having lots of troubles with slugs and looking for ways around them as waiting for potatoes to ripen to save for seed allows slugs to damage most the crop limiting storage. Thanks

  • @eliandkate

    @eliandkate

    7 ай бұрын

    Seed potatoes you buy are usually immature potatoes that have been harvested and cured particularly to be used for growing. So theoretically yup you can, but it would be worth doing a little bit of research into the process to make sure it ticks the boxes for you
