I tried to make a breakdown video on how I use vector and other features in Clip Studio Paint to make my life easier when drawing line art! This is aimed primarily at beginners who are unfamiliar with Clip Studio Paint as a program, but hopefully you'll give this a watch and maybe learn from it either way!

DISCLAIMER:
All art tips given in the videos are SUGGESTIONS, and you can draw however you'd like! I am also not a perfect artist and have many areas to improve in as well, though things I cover in videos are merely my own personal thoughts on how I approach art which I share in hopes that they may help others. If they do help, great! But if you feel like the tips are wrong or don't apply to your style, draw as you'd like- It's your art!

    I see lots of people use Clip Studio Paint without understanding vector features which speeds up my line art process significantly, so I wanted to make a video explaining some of the tools I use! Also, this time around I didn't add the chibis- Do you guys miss them or prefer if videos don't include it? Let me know, and of course if there's any other topic you'd like me to cover in the future, let me know in a comment! Thank you for watching!

    Great tutorial as always Oyun! It's nice that you show the comparison between the Raster and Vector as it shows the strengths and weaknesses. As for the chibi, I think it would be nice to see it again. It gave its own charm to the video! Also, there seems to have been minor export issues, but nothing that makes it hard to understand!

TT I've been having trouble with my audio lately but I'm glad it doesn't make it hard to understand!!

    how did I never know about changing the brush on vector layers

  • @TheKevphil
    @TheKevphil3 ай бұрын

    I did not know about how you can apply another brush to selected lines. Thanks! *Question:* I sometimes draw with the Continuous Curve (Bezier) tool when I accidentally have transparency selected. Is there a way to make that path black or white? When I select the line and try selecting black or white (or any color), nothing happens... *_Thanks!_*

  • @oyunorka

    @oyunorka

    3 ай бұрын

    I'm glad you learned something from it! Your linework is beautiful, I checked out your channel!! If transparency is selected, then the vector line itself is probably set to 'erase', if you select the line using object then go under the sub tool detail > Ink > Blending Mode > Change from 'Erase' to 'Normal' (or any other blending mode you want) it should be fixed! Since it's a bit hard to understand without visual I also made a visual guide here! Let me know if this is what you meant: i.postimg.cc/TdhDNzrH/change-transparent-line.jpg

    I still see pixels when I draw on a vector layer. Am I doing something wrong, or is this normal?

  • @oyunorka

    @oyunorka

    26 күн бұрын

    Yes, that's normal! I think it's due to how CSP processes the canvas zoom, but if you export the vector as SVG, it should be perfectly clear and scale infinitely without issues. Is there no "corect line" tool for color?

  • @oyunorka

    @oyunorka

    If you draw on a vector layer, then you can use the correct line tool, though if you draw something on a raster layer, the correct line tool won't be available!

    @@oyunorka I'm talking about changing the color of a line. There's a correct line tool for everything but not for color.

  • @oyunorka

    @oyunorka

    Ай бұрын

    @@Cartoonicus Oh I see! Yes, you can change the color of a vector line by either selecting a specific line (or click and drag as mentioned in video) or not selecting anything and changing all colors on the vector layer by going under Operation > Object > "Main Color" and then changing the main color of the line from there. Here's a screenshot as well: i.postimg.cc/pXWYJcqP/image.png Let me know if that was what you meant!
