Ngl, I'd love if this - making the starting zone for an Allied Race into a mini questing area - became the new norm.... and I loved all the lil story/flavor choices you can make here!!

Am I the only one that prefers actual races with longer starting zones over allied races with brief intros? I'd much prefer if Earthern was something unlocked at launch, with a larger level 0-10 starting zone, similar to something like Goblins and Worgens. I know that technically Dracthyr just did this, but that is tied to a specific class, so that is more in line with DH / DK starting zones. These allied race intros just feel.... eh, like you get a tiny bit of info on what is going on and then you're dropped into SW / Org with Chromie and everyone else telling you that you're some uber chad hero that can go start some great adventure and save the world.

I did like the dracthyr starting zone, but I do love the unlock scenarios for allied races too. This isn’t all Earthen get, since you still have to do a questline to unlock them after the War Within campaign. Sure, you don’t get to play that scenario as that race, but the unlock scenarios fit with the whole point of them being an “allied” race. They join the Alliance or Horde during the campaign questline and then when you make that character they start off as a new adventurer with their faction.

I expected them to sound like dwarves, but they sound like classic 80s Transformers. Fits them well.

The Dwarves are my favorite race and have been for 2 decades. I’m actually very excited to play as an Earthen!

honestly this is cool it's short but sweet but there are some nice things they did with it like getting gear that is themed to the earthen is honesty nice

I wasn't initially excited for earthen at blizzcon's announcement of them, but as we get closer to TWW I find myself actually getting excited to play one. 🤣

Nice! If you choose cloth, leather or plate classes do you get the other variants of the gear?

Wish they just gave us Jinyu and Hozen with the remix rather then earthen if I’m being honest lol

how do you get a level 10 char, for me, there are only lvl 70 premades

did the choices by chance select class and specialization, or are the Earthen made just like every other character?

I'm really surprised they gave them a start zone. Never thought they'd make a new race one again.

I don't think so, wowhead has it listed for earthen, dwarf and dark iron only

Is this the final voice acting? It’s pretty odd. It’s like they tried to combine M. O. T. H. E. R. with dwarves.

Feel like it’s a missed opportunity to release this with the expansion and not with the pre-patch. I want to level my earthen through the War Within but going to have to spend time levelling it while all my friends progress

Wait, it looks like Earthen can't be Death Knights anymore, not a bad change in my opinion. didn't make sense

I created a couple Earthern on the Alpha but haven't been back on to do much else yet.

What are the racials and what class/spec that favor as such?

finally getting an updated display for characters is well overdue, with so many alts (can have up to 60 so far) I'm amazed it's taken blizz this long to do a search feature, no more scrolling endlessly to find an alt; just type their name.

Or even a paladin or priest, since Holy or Shadow magic wasn't exactly what the titans had in mind. The only viable classes lorewise would be Mage, Warrior, Hunter and maybe shaman.

Cant wait for Frostborn dwarves to get added in The last titan. Only when we have at least 4 reskins of dwarves shall the prophecy be fulfilled.

Even though I'm an Alliance main - I absolutely want playable Ogres in the Horde. They're OG since Warcraft 2! They SHOULD be a playable race by now.

@@Vahki100 after Tel'drassil was destroyed, I had thought that the New Nelf World Tree would be on the Ruins of Feathermoon, a perfect location for it. THis would mean a full re-ordering of the zone as the Nelfs lay claim to it in it's entirety. As the Ogres would get pushed out... it would only be natural for them to follow Orhan Ogreblade into the HORDE! Dosen't look like that's going to be the case.... but, one may still HOPE.

Reaaaalllly bugs me they don't have stone beard and hair options, was really hoping for that. Will probably still make a hunter, lol.

I think this race is actually pretty cool. Not sure what the hate is all about. Everyone hated panderans back in the day, and now everyone plays them

Why does the female dwarf speak as if she were sleepy? It is dubbed by a man whispering?

This is so lazyyyy likee another dwarf? Really? Don't get me wrong earthen are cool but there are races that more deserved to be playable. Also, I think the reason they're neutral is because again Blizzard are lazy to create two race.

I mean really no Ogres after 20 years and now we get 3rd time dwarves what a load of kiss my ass I aint going to pay for this trash game if I can't have my Ogres. I'm done waiting. They should have already added Ogres in Burning Crusade with Draenei. Then after that they should have done a south seas expansion with high elves and forest trolls before moving on to Wotlk. 20 years of waiting and I still can't play either Axethrower Forest troll or warrior Ogre what a bullshit game this is I waste so much money on this trash to never get the 3 things that I asked for Ogres, Forest trolls and axethrowing for hunters. Why do I feel that Dawn lady is shady?

Really hope Harronir get allied race in this expac. 3rd dwarf for alliance isn't that exciting. Yes i like their design overall the most of the 3, but feels meh. Alliance got 3rd human with kul tiran when horde got second troll that looked really cool. We need something more unique.

so many other races that we could play as.... but they chose to just re-skin dwarves and call it a day...

This looks boring as shit. So many races they could have gone with, more dwarves. More elves. More trolls.

All races are literally offshoots of eachother now. Naga are corrupted night elves. Ogres are progenitors of orcs. Vykrul are early humans. Only unique thing is tuskarr and they're literally for kids and just walrus' instead of pandas.

i love the cannonically non binary race, i want to play them now lol

Dawn's voice acting is just awful. I recognize her as a few of the dragons in DF, and have always hated the way she delivers lines. Its so airy and every word is drawn out too long. Vzjax is just as bad.....God I hope they update the acting. Gonna have to skip every dialogue at this point.

Their voices are awful wtf. Getting tired of these lame choices for Allied Races when Ogres, Taunka, Saberon, etc are all better and cool choices than another dwarf race.

Too much exposition talk, boring and static feeling environment. Show don't tell Blizzard. The whole presentation is outdated and feels even worse than 2004 starting Zones.

Keep in mind this is the alpha and a lot of elements are not polished. I can already tell there's a lot of placeholder elements (music, dialogue) as the point of the alpha is mostly to test out gameplay, mechanics and so on and there's a big chance these will see changes as we get closer to release date, most likely even by beta!
