I completely forgot to come back and comment, but I watched all the review videos and I got a 99 on my regents! Thank you so much for making these videos, they were simple to understand and very helpful. I enjoyed learning about Earth Science a lot :) (no 100 because I messed up one on the practical and one on the exam :(

For the relative age, they will ask you to rank the rocks how do I rank from oldest to youngest? Does youngest start as the contact metamorphism then fault or something?

I go over all the rules in the video but always start with the oldest one is on the bottom!! For faults, if the line of the fault goes through the rock layer that means the rock layer was there BEFORE the fault!

@@ITeachYouScience Ohh so if there is a fault, unconformity, contact metamorphism/igneous intrusion occurs it WILL ALWAYS be after the rock layers?

No not necessarily. For the fault in particular if the rock is above the fault and it doesn’t have the fault line through it, that means that rock was not impacted by the fault. If it’s above it it’s younger . There’s no set rule to remember that works every time, you have to look at each question differently
