That is the primary reason I got into (someone else playing and me watching) this game.

this game deserved more than "Mixed review" on steam

prowl rider is my fav already just by looking at it. It's giving me some anime vibes as well like attack on titans and god eater I can tell am gonna enjoy this game and good tips too :)

It would be good to note that the prowl rider can have air battles with flying enemies by grappling on to them. When fighting a bunch of drones with the swords, I ended up being much higher than I could get with a jet lifter by the time I was done killing them all. Furthermore, as a pro tip, using a charge attack with a sword will allow you to keep your height/momentum while allowing you to recharge.

Haters gonna hate, but I think both 5 and Iron Rain are great EDF games, played thousands of hours both and liked every second of it.

I am madly in love with the air lifter, however, the heavy striker is by far the best if you have the right guns with immaculate range. Sitting across the battlefield and sweeping across with a laser beam, or using 7 shot lasers in tandem with each other gives for some of the most satisfying mission clears you can have until you get better guns with reload speeds that won't make you miss it.

An excellent commentary and breakdown of each class, and in an informative, but not dry or overly long, presentation. Very nice to see.

It looks 'better' than the usual EDF titles, but at the same time it doesn't have nearly enough bugs or insane enough weapons to be a true EDF game.

@@IzThatit Don't want to be "that guy" but just for clarification - you're actually wrong. Only Insect Armageddon was made by a western studio. Iron Rain is made by Yukes. Which is a Japanese studio who is most known for the bad wrestling WWE games.

I've never heard of this game but it looks freaking amazing.

I'm enjoying the Prowl Rider ALOT with that kickass ability to have a spider summon a horde of baby spiders to destroy everything. Fave class out of the entire series.

This is pretty good tips, simple and easy to understand.

Very nice video, bud! Honestly I was having trouble midway through the game. Just couldnt seem to stop failing missions and it was really bringing down my experience. Then I just kicked it to easy mode and became and unstoppable killing machine until I unlocked a ton of weapons and gear. Now I'm free to experiment with the harder difficulties with different combinations. Truly a hidden gem on the ps4 and the most fun I've had with a video game in a while

Anyone can use the sword weapons. In fact, there are no class restrictions when it comes to your weapon loadout in this game.

The Trooper is like the Storm-One from EDF3P (PSVita) or EDF 2017 (Xbox360) is just a "Air Rider" at the same time! To be honest is better like that. I can't wait to play the game ;p! Damn, I already decided between trooper and the second one and decided to like the second one more, but then every other class you showed made me go 'yep gonna use that in the future' Edit: OK, after testing out all of them, I have to say the flying one is still my favorite. The E-Needle is very difficult to use in some occasions, while flying is always easily achieved. The E-Needle would be awesome if you could shoot the ropes to the side or back for quick dodges, but if you are stuck in a mess of bugs in front of you, you barely can get out of there.

The point of the hooks is that you keep the bugs at arms length. The prowl rider is actually the fastest class, noticeably outpacing the Jet Lifter when used properly.

Exclusive to PS4 digitally since Thursday the 11th.

I didn't know that iron rain came out after or was better than EDF 5. It's like if EDF took its self seriously

I don’t mind the merger of classes actually , they should have gave the wing diver dual wield short swords or something , since they’re introducing swords into the series. I personally think the air raider and ranger were the same thing , they just did different stuff .. in EDF5 the AR was the most broken class next to WD, but what they lacked was mobility, defense , and offensive capabilities when it came to quick and close encounters. But this looks very dope can’t wait to play it!

As much as I'm hyped for this game, but there is this one thing that really annoys me: - using items costs money... the same money you need to buy other weapons. As much as I love the usable items system, but this basically means that I only use them once to test these items and never again, since it hinders my progress. I think limited uses are enough to balance these items, but throwing money away is too much. ^^" That's why I've never bought arms in DmC 5 and that's why I've never used the hat-weapon, since using it costs red orbs. Anyway, that's the first game I'm hyped for that's released on my B-Day, and it still will be the best B-Day ever cause of it. x) I also can't really say what's the coolest gear for me, since every single one is awesome in its own way. But since I love mobility, I would say either the "Jet Lifter" or "Prowl Rider". :) I still can see myself having fun wrecking stuff while dual wielding. Yeah and the trooper always has a special place. Sure, now he has this dodge, but overall, he feels more grounded and the game turns into "Soldier VS. Aliens/Bugs" instead of "Fancy Flying Superarmor VS. Aliens/Bugs".

bieng stun locked and frozen as the heavy striker is a nightmare, but sometimes, just sometime i think the dual wielding perk is worth it.

Pro Tip on the Heavy Striker: If you have something that makes a really big boom but don't like getting damaged by your own explosion, you can put up the Energy Wall THEN fire: you won't get damaged and you blow everything in your face to hell.

2017's was the best. Insect Armageddon's were great, and were definitely game breakers, especially on the heavy armour, but the one in 2017 pretty much made the entire horizon explode.

Sadly no, this isn't going to scratch the itch Lost Planet 2 left behind. They're extremely different games, despite a somewhat similar premise of shooting giant bugs. We did see another Lost Planet. Lost Planet 3 was pretty awful, and it vastly underperformed compared to its successors. Ater that they shelved the franchise and haven't touched it since. With any luck, now that Capcom seems to finally be getting out of its years long slump, we may see new life in some unused franchises.

I was definitely let down that it wasn't like the others but I can understand why they tried something knew since it didn't sell well enough. I think there is a much bigger audience for gangs like lp2 now so hopefully someone dusts it off.

@@kasumishindo9022 Jet lifter is Wing Diver. Air Raider was a special, special boy, whose guns were pretty garbage but had bunch of fun support equipment, artillery strikes and mech suits and he was the only one who could call it all in.

Nope. You choose a weapon, that weapon is dual-wielded

prowl i dont really care about the ride but spidermaning about is nice

I just hate how they butchered the Fencer Class, they removed the best thing about the class was being able to wield 4 different weapons. Instead they made it into dual wielding. They also replaced its ability of being the most mobile of of the 4 classes by having boost dashes and jump jets with a boring energy shield.

the heavy striker is upgraded ranger with shield, the fencer class in iron rain is the prowl rider that can go faster than the other classes,can latch itself to anything else, you can control the aerial direction while grappling and can summon stronger insects to wipe entire hoards of ravagers.

That jet lifter dash on the ground or just forwards should be available to the wing divers in 5 and 6 it's a shame it's not

Good luck grinding so many crystals and coins to use those items. The crafting element is going to be fuuuuun.

Does the Heavy Striker have any melee weapons. The Prowler looks fun, but I'm still having a blast in 5. Boostdashing with a Vulcan Hammer into a group of frogs is nothing short of awesome!

Here you seen the Xbox series X tests on backwards compatible game? Mostly frame rates improved all around without patches. Very curious to see EDF 2017 on series X

@@millerlucerojames It's not a rip off (was a bit harsh) but I don't like how he is mechanically it lacks the creativity and atmosphere the other fencer had, it doesn't seem like he is gonna be a tank capable of being a death machine at the hands of a skilled player but rather a slow moving heavy weapons guy.

@@millerlucerojames I'm not talking about lore and how it is mechanically I'm saying that they downgraded how he worked not how he looks and acts obviously, mechanically he looks to be just another gunner class rather than a fencer, the way they made the game ruins teamwork. There is no teamwork in this game considering how easy it looks now. The game looks like a cakewalk and it doesn't help that they are practically making you a one man army from what I've seen with all the sci-fi fantasy gear.

Yeah you have to progress a bit to unlock the Heavy Striker and Prowl Rider.

I’m sorry but when you have the option to ride giant scorpions and zip around like your playing attack on Titan why would you use anything else?

heavy striker is the maser dominate sort of to say which I play nearly the rest my way just using that class because some players like to play as a tanky attacker because we can turtle the dmg and avoiding bs exploding crap, the only thing we can't turtle an enemy is the final boss they auto break the shielding.

Pretty sure im just gonna be Prowl rider forever and pretend im Genji/Raiden with Attack on titan grapple and can ride giant scorpions while slashing aliens and bugs Its a shame they dint put the original fencer look for this one though...they tend to like the primitive (edge of tomorow style) exo suit which is just sad as i cant imagine myself playing a space marine anymore....
