    A lot of people call me the GUITAR INPECTOR .... Thank You for your kind words... I love to hear that the channel content is good, and I am able to explain the product so the viewers can get the full picture. This video was done some time ago and the newer the review ... The more product content. I have added so much to the reviews over time. Mostly what I hear from people like yourself. That get it and understand what the channel is about. They would ask for something to be added in the reviews and I would try to add that spec or check to the review. I miss speak at times . . . . I miss spell things in the little pop-up windows at times . . . . and sometime the video or audio is less than perfect. But my love for guitars and gear comes through with each video, I hope. Please tell others about the channel and thank you for commenting and letting me know you like what we do here!

    I have the Natural version, Love it. Your detail was by far the most in-depth I've seen. Definitely a DOPE review. I only have one suggestion, make it a little more lively and entertaining. I was bored at first but quickly realized your knowledge level so I stayed... If you played first with some quick clips of your technical dive into the instrument, it might help to "hook" more viewers and grow your channel. Your guitar skills, damn brotha your good... I watched til the end and subbed... Maybe just to me but when you started playing, I swear you morphed into a younger version of yourself. Music, is the fountain of youth. Keep creating, not maNY like you... :)

    This has to be the most Honest review of my channel I have heard to date. I know this because I myself was thinking it. Spot-on what I was thinking to myself... Even the demo areas... YES, playing the guitar brings out the best in me...Music is the healing process to the day's hard ships. I will try to be more Spunky ! LOL Thank You for making my day ! You are my first person to comment on my guitar skills. Thank You and please tell others about the channel.

    For the fret that was just a fraction high. I would put the neck down securely on something and give that fret a tap with a soft mallet to make sure it's seated properly in the groove that was made for the fret. Sometimes they can pop up just a little bit and a little tap will do the trick

    E=art is good with setting frets... I have had three here to review ... All of them were very good with the neck work. Sometime ... Yes, just tapping the fret gets it done. This guitar was a viewer's guitar that was sent to me to review them went to him. So, I no longer have the guitar here. BUT.... I'm sure he checks this review from time to time checking on comments about his guitar ! I'm sure he will see it ... Thanks for commenting and sharing !

    Had mine for about a year now, still have my tuning crank. Its a very nice guitar. The pickups were good but I switched to an EMG 81/85 set. Going full solderless was not possible. The EMG switches for both tele and strat were taller than the factory switch, well the PCB on the switch was. Couldn't use the EMG jack either because it wasn't a barrel. The EMG pots are smaller so the buss and battery had plenty of room. I also have the volgoa headless which had numerous issues. It arrived in a bigger box than the one you received, with no padding. The volgoa not the Eart. I fixed the volgoa and its good now but it took serious effort. Now i have a Strandberg and its my favorite now but the Eart is definitely second. Great video.

    My go to EMG is the ..... EMG89 Its a rock monster ! The one I have in my 89 Nitro is old school . . . . Long before the solderless stuff came out. It still works and never had any problems with any parts that came in the kit. I used the stereo barrel jack that came in the Peavey Nitro as it was Active from the factory. Thanks for your comment ... Your feedback on the Eart helps others if they are looking to buy one. !

But I do not consider myself a builder. I could not build them quick enough to make a living doing it... I lack to the tooling and setup for that. But if anyone wanted custom work to their guitar ... I have no problems doing that. Thier is a lot of repair and how too videos on this channel about modding and fixing.... I hope you check them out ! Again THANKS FOR THE SUB ! The neck on the Eart is better... The fret feel is just awesome. But I do think I liked the feel of the fingerboard on the Valgoa with the hpl material. They are both actually great guitars. I think the pickups on the valgoa are just a little better.... But if I had to pick...... I think I would go with the Eart.. storefront work is just phenomenal and since it has a conventional fingerboard we know what that will do two after 20 or 30 years.... No one really knows what the HPL fingerboards will do after many years of use.... I would install some really nice Seymour Duncan's in this guitar and fix the issues that I pointed out in the video. I would definitely fix the control cavity and install shielding while I was installing the new pickups... So the Eart twould be the one for me.

    @DominionFretWorks Just subscribed. I love the super in depth reviews, personally. But for the sake of gaining more subscribers, my advice (wich may not be worth much because i could be wrong 😅)...is to make them just a tad less "in depth" if you kbow what i mean? Just a tad. Being very thorough is definitely what makes your reviews unique and its why they stand out, and i love them for that very reason. But maybe dial it back, just a tiny hair. Just for the sake of keeping some of the younger viewers short attention spans 😂. I dont mean all of them. I don't want to come off as a snobby old fart lol. And I definitely don't want to offend the young musicians who are really working hard to learn their craft! But the twatter generation seems to not have the greatest capacity to stay focused. Cheers to those of you young musicians that are striving to grow your skills. Much respect! Also (and this is maybe even more important), you should really show your excitement or impressions when a guitar impresses you, relative to price point. The first couple of your videos I watched, you were a bit more animated and showed a touch more emotion...the way a guitar/music lover does when a new guitar shows up at thier doorstep lol. I love seeing that. Especially when you have a awesome milestone like having a subscriber send you a guitar! Congratulations!!👏 Keep up the good work friend! Jam on! 🎸 P.s. I would love to see some reviews of the recording gear you have back there! Im building my studio now and would love to know what you use and how you use it! Or what is on your wish list lol.

I'm still trying to find my way in the KZread world. But like everyone else I have my other job " my full time job " then I have my repair work I do for customers fixing guitars... Now I have added the KZread channel. Guitars, Music and just the people are what I really like. Just as you have pointed out. I need to keep my emotion... My fear was to come across wrong or miss leading on a product. I love guitars ! ! ! ! and it seems the older I get the more types of guitars I like. I find myself thinking what if I would have tried one of these years ago ??? Thank You for being honest about what you have seen and what you think. That is what I'm trying to do as well ! ! !

    About the frets, do you think they used a Plek machine? One would think that, on a large scale, this would pay.

  • @DominionFretWorks

    @DominionFretWorks

    7 ай бұрын

    Plek's are slow.....slow....slow..... The cost of the PLEK vs their speed just isn't there yet for production building. That doesn't mean they are not using some type of NC unit on the frets. Even if it's just doing a leveling...which can easily be done on a 2.5 axis unit. Remember labor there is CHEAP. That is why everyone goes there for their production. Everyone thinks a PLEK is better than a person... They are not... They just don't call in sick They don't have ... I just not into working hard today... But do they really do a better job ???? I would say no... But good employees are getting hard to find... A good fret guy at the going rate here in the USA.... Ya.... Its hit or miss... The plek is a tool that costs and costs... remember tooling for this unit.... Up keep on the unit... Elect cost... Unit cost over 5 years..." payment" divided over 5 years... Plus the guy to run the plek... Then charge 200 per plek.... Sorry not seeing any money being made with a plek. Time brings down the cost of all tooling items. I think once the cost of the unit comes down you will start seeing it used more and more.

    Eart Explorer-1 " EX H6 " I could have picked one up on Amazon in Dec. last year for 399.00 they had two left overs from a run. I didn't get it due to the fact .... Why review a guitar that they are not stocking anymore. From what I heard they were good guitars. But remember most of the reviews were from when Eart first took off on Amazon... and a lot of channels were getting free ones to demo. If you look up Eart Explorer 1 on KZread you can find reviews on the guitar... But again there was a lot of HIPE and WOW stuff going on at the time over Eart Guitars. There are a lot of HIPE channels on KZread. I wish I could give you my thought on it ... but I have never had one in my hands. If your a good at Modding and doing fret work I could give you some other guitars that if you pick 500-600 dollars in would just be KILLER guitars. But you have to do the work... Every guitar will need something...

    I have a few videos on checking and fixing the first fretted note.... Look on my channels main page and go under videos...there are subgroups .. IE Guitar Reviews....Guitar Setup...and I think I have a Guitar Repairs and Mods. Look in the last two last above... I have done a few videos where I touch base on this. The standard fretted guitar is off no matter what ya do.... If you check going down your neck each fret will be off a little. What you're trying to do is setup your guitar for your playing... So, if you play a lot of open cording up on the first 4 frets.. Try to get that as good as you can... If you're playing all over the place..... Well then you have to do average across all your frets. There is only one company that has addressed this problem...I think... maybe others have made production level guitars trying to fix the problem. Musicman has a model in production right now.. Look up True Tempered Fret Guitar Get your head around what is really going on ... with your fret board. Then you will have a better understanding of what you should do with your guitar. A good understanding of this will make you less likely to chase your tail trying to get if Prefect. As there is no guitar with prefect tuning. But we want it as good as we can get it for our playing. I hope you check out my videos on repairs and mods and have fun looking up True Tempered Fret Guitar. Hope this helps!

    Copper tape is the BEST shielding.. Use braided tube wire to cover all the wiring inside and ground to the output jack... Tape off the other side of the braided Tube Wire. Only connect one side. This works very well at shielding the wiring. This is a PITA to do... So, if you're not playing out... Bars and ext... don't waste your time doing it.

    The output jack is actually in the perfect position for classical oritenation. The way you're holding it is incorrect. You need to have the neck angled higher and the curved part of the body below the knobs resting on your thigh, not the bridge.
