It has changed. With inflation prices have gone up. These are fake promotional videos. The truth will come out when you really search for the shop. There are many fake videos in you tube making the rounds. Yes some cheap sjops were really there before covid days which closed down permanently.

There's something about this video, the sound of veggies being cut, food being cooked.. feels like I am right there. Planning to visit Kolkata from so long but unable to make that happen. Hopefully this year.

Kolkata is not a city but an emotion

No where in Kolkata now Masala Omlet Ghugni and 2 toast cost Rs.10/=. It may be a video of at least 5-7 yrs ago. Now it cost Rs.35/= which is also reasonable.

Same breakfast in Mumbai cost 200-250 ruppes. No wonder mumbai is on the rise. Kolkata is very poor. Only money belongs to goenka ,mamata banerjee , agarwal house owner of haldiram and mr c.s ghosh owner of a bank. Only 4 people earns 1000 crores yearly. Huge inequality

Aha! Ei swad tai alada. The fresh bread with butter on top and watery peas with pieces of potatoes make an unique breakfast which is the very essence of Kolkata.

Your way of food vlogging is so nice and watchable unlike other food vlogger who can't shut their mouth through entire video which annoys audience.

Seems like the breakfast in this video is inspired from the old British days of Calcutta. Toasted bread with beans and egg omelette.

we are there in Kolkata during dasara this year and i enjoyed my food what I eat during my office days in 2000, luchi , chowmin with chicken chilli , fruit salads , rice with variety of sabji , roll , bread omlette, sandwich, gugni with bread & roti, lengcha , rasgulla , biryani we stayed 1 week during this dasahara festival and i got a same taste which I get in 2000.

Mouth watering breakfast 🤤🤤

Food looks good ,working with fire really makes the surrounding heated up, but they should have worn atleast a t shirt it would have been better.

Today ( 11th October) my self and my driver had breakfast st a roadside eatery. I had two chopati and one plate sabji and my driver had three chapati and one plate sabji. Total cost 50 rs. Roti ( quite big ) is 4 rs per piece and sabji is 15 Rs per plate. Calcutta is still cheaper compared with other cities.

​@@rathiid No, it's cheap for everyone, not only for poor, also for richer people. It's cheap because the city produces lot and don't allow the monopoly of big businesses. Its govt subsidized the most basic services (education, medical, transport) and provide them free or nearly free for all the city resident. It keep the price of the land and services low by not allowing big business to grab the city land and building high rises (strict land and zoning law), preventing monopoly of big business and creating space and competition for small and medium scale businesses which reduces price and caters bigger section of the society. And on top that Calcutta is surrounded by district that have the most fertile land in the world in the flood plane of Ganges river and they are the highest procurers of grain(rice) and vegetables and fish in India with little or no investment. So ingredients being fresh, cheap and plenty in supply, food is extremely cheap. Also by preventing big businesses, small business thrive in competition and naturally that set the price very low, thereby it can support all sections of the society, which indeed the goal of a socialist welfare state like West Bengal.

One of my favourite n cheapest breakfast found only in Kolkata though now the price must hv increased yrs bk egg toast was Rs10 n ghugni Rs5 n tea Rs5 is so filling we had it as brunch so that thrs no need for lunch. I can hv it in dinner also. The bread is special bun which is so tasty simply toasted with butter n black pepper powder or sugar .

Yeah Calcutta is truly rich in culture but most of the Indian cities follow the same old tradition with few exceptions. I am from Chennai and it also has its rich culture and tradition especially with food.
