It's pure veg as in bengal onion garlic is also a part of nonveg. So they avoid it so that other can also have it. And second is it taste much better without onion and garlic

@@preeshaa interesting! Yeah I like the taste of asafoetida in cooking. I worked at a charity here in Australia years ago and the Hare Krishna would donate food for the homeless. Most of the homeless wouldn't eat the food so I was allowed to eat as much as I could, and I did lol it was delicious!

Bengal is birth place of many great devotee of lord Krishna so it pretty common you will find people like these who sell no onion garlic like Chaitanya Mahaprabhu , Srila Prabhupada , Narottam das and before 1936/1930 Odisha and West Bengal were one state so Lord Jagannath influence is found in both the states . It's normal if person don't put onion garlic in Singhara ( Samosa ) as in East India Singhara is made without onion garlic only , it has nothing to do with Hare krishna.
