Early 2001 BMW Street Carver Skateboard - Overview from my Manhattan Treehouse
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
I had a meeting at BMW Design in Southern California and as soon I caught sight of their designed skate board, I had to pick one up! It's way more wild to ride than my Boosted board, but the use of a BMW 5-series E39 rear anti-roll-bar components made me bit the bullet to purchase it.
Manufactured in Germany and debuting in 2001, the Streetcarver stopped production in 2005 and had a BMWesque price of $500. It was heavy too at 11 pounds, most of it was cast aluminum for the suspension.
It gave more of a feeling of snowboarding on the street, and to stop you either ran off the deck, hopefully with the board not crashing on a curb, drug a foot on the ground or applied a shoe gently on the rear wheel.
Some interesting facts about the board are that the truck assemblies were cast aluminum, the wheels are two-piece five spoke alloys inspired by the X5, and the tires are a compound of rubber-polymer. The Razor Go-cart later used this wheel design as well, alas it was made in China, so probably a stolen deisgn!

I have one. I bought it in London at the BMW showroom back in 2000 and it's still in my garage in New Zealand. Some of the cantilever steering parts are off an M5 🙂 Still a good solid platform for downhill carving, but it's just heavy to carry back up the hill!

@@spikearoonie8796 not really. I mean it's fun to ride, but it weighs about 15kg so too heavy to carry far

Wow, what happened to yours? I'm sure you can find a cracked board - look on eBay for parts! Getting them from BMW is probably a lost cause.
