I forgot to mention it in the video but the magazine for the XL is actually particularly good. It has a lot of insight to the Discovery shows that could have been under the MANY producers before Kurtzman. Compared to the original version where Eaglemoss didn't know anything about the unmade show it's a huge improvement.

Thank you, I never understood where that 20mm difference misinformation got started but you are right, its everywhere. Probably the same people that keep insisting Disco stuff 'must' be 25% different? hehe Also agree with you that I like the Disco ships, just as long as you adjust the sizes down. I've found about 2/3rds of the given length works well. That gets the Connie down to just under 300 meters and the other Starfleet ships in the 200-350 meters ballpark. All totally reasonable. At first i was annoyed the Disco series was in the medium scale as i like the smaller original collection 3" to 5" size just fine, but after a few years, this scale has really grown on me. I guess I'm not too old to change afterall! cheers.

Actually I think the 20mm thing originated from Eaglemoss as that's what their website said before anybody got the model. Idk if it's fixed now, but the web shop has a history of not always being correct. They use promo models for the pictures so regularly there are color diffrences as stuff. Like right now the the Cerritos says "USS Cerits" and the Nog is another ship, but that's not on the final version. But given there's still a Jem'Hadar ship from the original 180 with the wrong picture on the shop, I would guess the shop still has it wrong

Just found your channel and subscribed. I always wanted the XL Eaglemoss ships, but I heard they have more QC issues and are expensive, especially the Voyager. How is the scaling between ships in the regular line? I want to display the standard Voyager, Discovery, and Shenzou on a shelf/desk. Also, when I eventually get these ships I will review them on my channel.

Thanks! First off if you're going to be buying loads of Eaglemoss ships then ya you'll eventually run into QC issues. But every time I've heard of a case where someone had a problem customer support has always sent a replacement and let you keep the defective/wrong item. There are a few models with inherent flaws, (actually the XL Shenzou is one of them as it has ISS decals on the nacelles), but there are only a few "problem models" and they're pretty well known among the community, so just ask anyone who collects (including me). Scaling depends on the models. There are the standard sized models which are the original 180 and the bonus issues. They're all only a few inches long and pretty much the same size. Then there's the Universe/Discovery/Special sizes. Those have a lot more variation but are usually noticeably larger. It really depends on the model. Some of those later Discovery ships are basically standard size, but Starbase One is MASSIVE for example. Memory Alpha actually has pages on the collections with lengths, and the Eaglemoss shop posts them as well. Finally there are the XLs. Generally about the same size but the more massive ships can have MUCH bigger models. The Discovery is actually a great example of the former, but most of them are 9-11 inches. I actually have videos on the Shenzou and Voyager as well. The standard Voyager will be dwarfed by the non-XL Discovery and Shenzou though. However the XL Voyager is really big and would probably fit better. It's the largest of the 3 models however. Some people have problems with the window placement on that model (check my video to see them, somebody brings it up in the comments as well), but I personally find the detail on that ship stunning. It's one of my favorite models. As for price, I never really discuss that. Depends on how much money you have to throw around and what you want to spend. I can justify the costs, but it's not really a standardized thing like "does this ship look right", so I rarely mention money

Nothing against your video, but it really bugs me how that Star Drek 'Discovery' is now clogging up my results when I'm looking for the USS Discovery One (XD-1, 2001). /rant 😅
