    I love your house and property. It reminds me of growing up on a small farm and not having to worry about any neighbors! Boy I miss that! I love flying that jet. It's quite zippy and turns on a dime. I must admit, though, when I put it in expert mode I have a difficult time keeping it in the air. When I first got it the ailerons hardly moved at all. I discovered that they did a messy glue job and had glued one of the pushrods to the fuselage. I removed the glue and it worked fine.

    What I love about these Eachine airplanes (I have the P51, F22, and Corsair) is that they are fun for a beginner to flying planes. The one touch acrobatic button for loops and rolls means you can have fun right away. They are also very durable so crashes are usually uneventful.

    Using the one model I use to fly all my Volantex Warbirds on with TX16S, this F16 does the same thing as yours with stock controller. When I first bind it and turn gyro off in expert mode everything works as expected. But when I power up the motor, the aileron surfaces get wonky and don't return back to level without opposite stick movement. There's nothing sticking, it's the way it is. Maybe once in the air and moving it adjusts properly. Just got mine and haven't flown it yet. May have to get a Warbird receiver and replace this one with it.

    Theres no need to label the controllers. They will all work with each model. The protocol for the receiver is called V761. You may notice on the T-28 its labelled 761 on the tail too. The P-51D, F-4U, T-28, Sport Cub 500, F-22 and now this F-16 all use the same protocol. You can also fly them with the Jumper T8 you have or any Open TX Radio with the Multiprotocol chips in them. You can then add rates, expo etc to make them fly even better. Setup is as follows CH1 Ail, CH2 Ele, CH3 Thr, CH4 Rud, CH5 Gyro ie Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced modes. The channels afterwards are used for calibration, stunt, rth etc but I dont bother with them. I believe the ailerons are stuck initially to counteract torque roll on launch then once its going it levels out just fine just like my F-22. I hope that helps a bit. PS the Open TX Radios also work perfectly with any E-Flite or UMX models that use the DSMX protocols. Safe and AS3X also works. I even have voltage telemetry on my UMX Turbo Timber. I wont buy Spektrum Radios but the batteries and chargers are great

  • @BrianPhillipsRC

    @BrianPhillipsRC

    3 жыл бұрын

    Thanks Scott! I haven't had so much success with the OpenTx side of things, largely because I'm admittedly a Horizon Hobby "fan-boy" and really do love using Spektrum gear. Thank you for the detailed explanation! I really appreciate you sharing this information. That idea about the ailerons makes sense too, as I didn't seem to see a large amount of unexpected roll at launch, so I bet you're onto something with the "Countering the torque roll" - GREAT IDEA! I could try to give throttle and see if the ailerons "Relax" to center, which would give me some confirmation of your theory, possibly. As for complete interchangeability between these planes, I haven't had such success, but maybe, as mentioned above, I was doing something wrong.

    All of these little Eachine planes are awesome beginner experiences. Seriously if you want to give a friend or child a positive 1st RC impression, stress free, inexpensive, and nearly indestructible, get one of the warbirds. I even had a dog 'fetch' my P-51 (unintended) and refuse to surrender it for 45 minutes and it still flies. I had to wait for the saliva to dry and put a little foam-tac in the tooth holes, but it flies... I wonder how this one would do in a race/dogfight vs the warbirds. They top out at a blistering 30mph. One question, does this have the pop-off prop system like the warbirds?

  • @BrianPhillipsRC

    @BrianPhillipsRC

    3 жыл бұрын

    I agree - GREAT plane for the new or prospective RC pilot! As for the "pop off" prop - No, unfortunately not. This is a pusher style, and much like the F22, prop will just break ;( I think this was a miss on the F16. If the gear were long enough to allow for a proper wheels up, wheels down, I'd be okay with this feature being absent..but they aren't.

I had the same problem with the F22 (others have reported the same), no physical binding that I could see, more of an electrical/radio problem? @@BrianPhillipsRC I had the same problem. I learned from rcgroups that the receiver front-end gets swamped from too much power and you don't get a good bind. If you're binding to a tx16s then select low-power first and you will likely have to fly on low-power. That came from rcgroups and it worked. I'm assuming with the stock tx (toyish tx) you could walk a little ways away from Rx when binding so that you don't confuse the receiver by swamping the front end with too much power. It has worked for me. Brian & Megan, thanks again for everything. You two are awesome.

    One of the easiest ways to measure 1:1 thrust or thrust to weight ratio is by holding plane from wing tip loosely & see the angle it covers on giving throttle if it covers 90 deg it is 1:1 .... if >90 it is >1.2+:1 ..... It is basically sin function of (angle covered) if covers 45 deg it is 0.7:1 if covers 30 deg it is 0.5 to 1 below it it probably won't fly

  • @BrianPhillipsRC

    I thought it was POWER : WEIGHT ...did I misunderstand the principle? If the plane can hover, it's at 1 to 1...isn't it?

  • @engineerahmed7248

    @engineerahmed7248

    3 жыл бұрын

    U r r8. .. Just that it is a quick easy method to measure THRUST (feels like POWER) : WEIGHT.... At 1:1 it will still hover. Just that u will be effectively hinging it from wing tip.....A bit counter intuitive: as one might think hinge must be sharing weight. But in reality, at zero throttle the plane will automatically take oriented such that CG is r8 below the hinge & hinge carries all the weight. On progressively increasing throttle, the plane will cover angle (angular displacement) until at 1:1 it will be at 90 deg from initial orientation. At this point CG is horizontal to hinge. Hence hinge carries no component of weight at all.

    Hi, I am new in this hobby that's why to choose F16 for my first ever flight but now as expected, I have broken the tip of the left-wing, is there any solution to it, I believe it will make my F16 unstable. Any experienced pilot like you Brian share some remedies for it. thanks a lot in advance. The maiden flight was awesome but broke my propeller during landing. :P

    You can glue it back on with a glue like this... Foam2Foam bit.ly/30RNnh0 OR Mucilage bit.ly/3fdfzQp ...if you can't get it to stick, just pierce the foam with a toothpick, and make a support for the foam while the glue sets up.

    @@BrianPhillipsRC thanks a lot for your response, I'll try to use such glues n revert to you, but the thing is, it's just the tip of the missiles that are there at the end of each wing has chipped off and I am not able to find it now, but the plane is unbalanced b/c of that little weight difference even. so I guess I'll try your idea and use a toothpick to balance it out. thanks for the suggestions, I'll come back to you soon with the results, BTW your content is as awesome as your flying skills and your wife's whispering in the back is like the cherry on the cake !!!!!!.

    I'm very sorry, I don't know. The key is the DIRECTION OF ROTATION and shaft size are the only two factors to worry about...then just trim the prop with scissors...evenly. I would try to find a DRONE you have possibly lying around and then try the prop. Enough thrust? You're set...I want to help you more, but these little guys don't always have spare parts available. I had 3 of the F22 like that. I only have one now every time I get out I end up crashing it somehow. Or I break the propeller When I land. So I stopped flying it. That is pretty much why I do not fly any of my big planes. As well as trying to set up the remote I got that UMX Turbo Tumblr. I don't know if it was me or something wrong but the throttle cut had to be on to get the safe to work where you flip it upside down. I did everything the way that manual told me to do. I could not figure it out so I gave up and sold it. I think I'm about to sell all of my planes and just give up. With my condition I am in right now and just to Look up at all these planes I have. And to know I probably would crash every single one of them if I try to fly. If I can't figure out the remote or fly a little plain like that. Lol

    Try a Volantex P51 or T28. I got a long time gas motor guy getting back into it, to get a P51, and he loves it. They fly great and are durable. The batteries give you about 10min of flight and are cheap to buy on Amazon...5 @ $15. It's all about stick time at the controls when learning and you can't beat these for the cost.

As for the SNOW...we'll hopefully be done with it next week, as it'll be in the 40's and much of it will be gone. I cleaned out the garage floor tonight, sweeping up maybe 20 pounds of sand from under each car, then I used the blower to get it real nice ;) It felt sooo nice out there today at about 20 degrees F - it's gonna be a HEAT wave next week!
