Thanks for the granular breakdown of the reality of what is happening with tesla and its supercharger network. This kind of insider perspective is invaluable to anyone who is trying to understand what is actually going on. Thanks for putting this out.

You got the story from the perspective of a subcontractor of Teslas and a blow by blow of what happened. The why? Why did Tesla go from 24 port stations to 12...then 8,6 and 4 to NOTHING? You got nothing. He speculated aka guessed and God love him his guess makes absolutely no sense. Musks going to sign agreements with Ford and GM to let their customers use his stations...I mean...those are the biggest contracts ever signed possibly. Do you understand that? Musks going to build teams then change his mind? No. I know what has happened. I figured it out. Im not goingt to say yet.

@@metaldreams3595 so in essence your response to the nothing you object to is your own nothing? Hopefully you can appreciate the irony in that? This guy's video wasn't about the why, it's what he saw personally. Far more valuable as a datapoint. It may be as simple as Elon literally being stretched too thin and having found his limits. Twitter was certainly a profound error on his part but that's because he dropped his younger strategy of surrounding himself with best and brightest in favor of listening to mediocre no skill right-wingers. Or it could be age ego and ketamine. Hard to say without being there.

Agree! From someone who's done 4 care free SoCal-Austin/Starbase trips in FSDed M3P & MYLR: I saw one independent installations contractor post a video that he was sad for those let go, & how, but understood that he & his peers would continue to be paid & supplied, PLUS new contractors and site owners, such as Walmart & "transitioning" BP, etc., gas stations, were already being scheduled for taking over from the old team's expansion projects. Also, that the "pudding proof" of the new deployment process would sooner than later suffice as "explanation" much better than Tesla attempting to convince the already doubting public of the veracity of their new approach.

That is great info on the destination charger history and saga. A more standard (financially and humanely) way of divesting products or service would be sell the operation to a third party so all the expertise and operation is intact. A gas station or utility company can use them to expand into all the restaurant, hotel, mall locations.

This is an informative video. Great explanation and insights to what happened that lead to why Tesla cut the supercharging team. It makes sense because I've never seen any car company build gas station for their cars and trucks. Why do people think Tesla has the responsibility to keep building supercharging stations? They've build more than enough. This is also a good opportunity for everyone to make money and install their own charging stations.

I think Elon is cutting a cost here (disbanding an entire 500 team department) and will be adding a new, smaller one. This smaller team will be Tesla's contribution to the (soon to be founded) Supercharger Network Corporation (SNC). The SNC will be established by the major EV manufacturers who partnered with Tesla to use the original Tesla SC network. It will be responsible for building out the network to nationally and internationally. The SNC will utilize available government incentives, pooled resources and income from operations. It will be a huge, progressive move for the EV market. Or, maybe even more provocative, perhaps a new partnership has yet to be announced following the big China visit this week. Maybe Elon and China are going to make the Supercharging network a reality. Maybe? JMHO

Why reason is there that these new groups running superchargers that you postulate (snc), which is not-tesla will run a good service, fix it, and not have craptacular service? There's no reason to expect it to be good. Everyone should have already been incentivized to have good fast charging services already.

You should sue Tesla. They reneged on their agreement. Did you have contracts? I know it's not that simple. They are your bread and butter.

He still loves Elon, "How far can I bend over for you Elon?" Ugh! Tesla is going down, it is over valued, it produces nothing but dangerous crap, and as you can see here, treats all its partner contractors like garbage. Do you want to know "shocked", try being an employee and showing up for work and being told as of an hour ago, your job is terminated. Nice planning Elon! Charger Dude: you are a simp for a vaporware con man. Wake up!

Tesla did not pay anyone for charging stations. The government gave Tesla the money for the charging program, which they still have our tax money. This has been a money grab for Tesla and contractors. The bubble is going to bust. Our family has Teslas, and we can't travel where we want. We are forced to rely on our petroleum powered vehicles... Petroleum will prevail in the long term because it's a renewable resource. Electric is okay for local errands only. Telsa & contractors should refund the unused tax money to the government. #SadStateWeAreIn #moneygrab #whereisthemoney 🤔

Eloon singlehandedly created the EV industry in the USA. And now he has killed it. It’s over. No reliable chargers means no EV interest for the end user. The customer. The little guy. The guy who has to buy a car to get to work, get his kids to school, etc. Uncertainty with charging is a full stop.
