Mate, your tutorials are awesome. I'm halfway through 6 weeks of work experience at an engineering firm in western Australia. Basically they have sat me at a computer and told me to run through the built in tutorials for solidworks. I got through all of them in about 2 weeks (2 weeks earlier than they expected). They hadn't organised anything else for me to do so I went looking for more tutorials as the built in ones are not great and didn't leave me with much knowledge. Stumbled upon your videos and I am hooked big time, your delivery is perfect. I'm developing an appetite to learn as much about Solidworks as I can and I believe it's down to you making the learning process easy. I just want to thank you for sacrificing your free time to provide people like me with the knowledge necessary to use this software. You are a champion, cheers from down Under.

I'm surprised this popped up again :) I have to say, your tuorials are amazing! I started from 0 knowlegde and I was able to make an awesome 3D file for my thesis about 2 years ago.

Hi. Just a quick heads up at 28:20 for those using SW 2018. The part actually loads as "future version file". You might not notice this before you try to model items. This does not work as the file is loaded without features. Using the old version file works well in this instance.

sir you can move the sheet like in the autocad ... just by holding your middle mouse button ... without pressing the control key

Is there a way to automatically add hole callout dimensions?

On annotations tab find "hole callout" select the outermost edge of any hole.

you can save the part as STEP AP214(*.step;*.step) then you can open it in old version. hope it help you

Thank you for another interesting SW class! I have an issue, though! Being European, but liviing over 40 years in US and seeing almost exlusively the 3rd angle projection drawings, I am not sure anymore, what the standard 1st angle projection layout should look like. Just thinking lgically, when my first view is TOP view and I derive front view and right side view from it, is shoud have the top view in the upper right corner, vertically below it there shoud be the front view and on left side horizontally should be right side view. The isometric then shoud be sort of 225degrees from the X axis( in Cartesian analytical geometry concept that would be somewhere in 3rd quadrant of the drawing.....(assuming the bottom left corner of the top view is X0Y0). Yet-if I am not wrong, it is not , what I remember. If I remember correctly from the school (more then 50 years ago), the top drawing used to be positioned in bottom right corner of the sheet, left to it would be right side view and above(where I would assume to be back side view) is the front view. And the isometric at 135 degrees from the X avis(i.e. in the 2nd quadrant)....But it has been so long, I am not sure now at 70 years of age. There is also possibility,that the international drawing standards have changed and the layout is different then years ago..... You tube and other Internet sources have somany explanation of this, yet they are many times contradicting each other or at least do the things different way.... I wish someone (perhaps you, Mr. Sikora) would clarify it for me and others, because understanding this is one of the most important concepts in engineering....I am attching a video, which I did couple days ago, wheere I show tehconfusion and alsouncertainity of the ISOMETRIc views in both ANSI and European projection system......
