E36 GETS A NEW SHIFTER, WE DO GOOD DEEDS, AND OUR E36 MAKES CRAZY NOISES?
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This is a continuation of the day we installed the clutch. We keep the party going with a Cliqtuning shifter install, some bleeding of the clutch, and diagnose a noise we are getting in the clutch area. Also my neighbor needed a jump, so we helped her out. AND MORE BANTER at the end.

Tell that woman the battery drain is most likely due to the Hands Free Link unit that runs the Bluetooth calling in the car. Very common issue on the Gen 3 TL's. I removed mine from the car after my battery died once. Quick to remove.

25:55 fucking dead 😂
Always hook positive cable first.hooking it up second can cause voltage spikes that electronics dont like.and be careful about throw out clearances they can eat through clutch fingers.
i have an e36 m3 with the zf trans did the fx clutch and the same flywheel had the same problem with the sqweelll and getting into gear, it went away and is doing great 5k miles later.
Just finished putting mine in my e36 i did have the same trouble but once i drove it got better
I really wanna thank the editor for turning down the volume when the alarm went off cuz I sure enough had headphones in
So excited for you to be ripping the E36 soon! Keep it up Chelsea
Hahaha good jokes man lol
I feel you on the cliq tuning short shifter because the nut on the bottom is still loose and i can adjust the throw as well. ill probably get under there and throw on some locktite this upcoming weekend.

Yo chelsea, loving the vids. how would you go about improving steering feel on a 46 and a 39? can you increase castor enough with topmounts and extended lower arms to overcome the overly strong power steering? ive deleted the powersteering on one of mine but have yet to drive it. thanks dude.🤘🤘
@chelseadenofa
6 жыл бұрын
I would definitely put the PS back on. No reason to ever remove that when drifting. The biggest thing on the E36's is getting a linear rack in the car. A lot of them are progressive. You can also take some preload off the rack, but thats fairly complicated. Best option is to get some offset FCABs that are more firm. And add some angle for a faster turn in.
@Its_PieRat
6 жыл бұрын
Chelsea DeNofa only reason ive deleted it is for simplicity as ive swapped in a 1GFE that im going to turbocharge. i will try it without and see how it goes lol. Yeah shorter knuckles will help but they didnt make much difference on my soarer 🤣
@imnota
6 жыл бұрын
Get a z3 rack, it's linear. How are your steering shaft joints ? If they aren't an actual metal joint, get a kit with metal joint, because the ones with a rubber bushing are trash.

hey chelsea I hope you’ll read my comment I had the same problem with mine, the clutch disc where the output shaft of the tranny go was touching the center of my release bearing(hard part) since it’s an ebay clutch! sorry for my english i’m from montreal canada and by the way I loved your runs at st-eustache this year!

I've been eyeing a stage 4 FX clutch for my s52 for current drift use, and preparation for boost, should I just go with OEM throw out bearing?
@albertbord
6 жыл бұрын
another dude here said the throw out bearing is trash, use the oem
@chelseadenofa
6 жыл бұрын
Yes, USE OEM. Also, do you really need a stage 4? My stage 2 in my street car was holding 480ftlbs for years.
I dont recall if you put a taller diff in this car. Did you do a 3.91 like in the past or taller? What would you recommend for a dedicated drift car that still sees some street? Car is an 328.
@chelseadenofa
6 жыл бұрын
+Chris Boettin I did a 3.73 on this car for Parc because the 3.91 was just a tad short. Gear depends on the track tho.
@boettin916
6 жыл бұрын
Chelsea DeNofa right on yea I think the 391 might be too much for central cali. My local spots are thunderhill. Sonoma. Tracks seem a bit more big than Parc so I might go talker than the 3.91

Variable throw shifter haha
I’m more then sure by now that you’ve figured this out because this video is well over 2 years old but.. that squealing sound you heard is probably definitely the throw out bearing because my miata made the same noise and that’s what it was.
@ChromeCowboyGaming
4 жыл бұрын
Also, did you end up liking the shifter? I was watching this video on reference to that because my e36 shifter is loose as hell, like I can literally put the car into 3rd two different ways. I was wondering if I bought this shifter, if it would fix it because it does come with new bushings on the shifter. I also do like short throw. Idk lmk if you see this. Thanks!
Dude that compact sounds MEAN
Yo dude everybody says the fx clutch kits are great but the provided throw out is trash, slam an oem you'll be good.

I totally agree with this statement. The chassis mount adjustable ones are nice tho because mine has just a little shorter than stock throw, but a ton less slop, and a better shifter location. Its higher up and gets rid of a moving piece that can fail.
