    Thank you for all your hard work. While I have no plans on building an actual Tamiya Sand Scorcher, I DO have plans involving the Sand Scorcher body, the "upgrade/replacement" parts you designed, and the Junkyard Stance Porsche Flat-6 engine. I just hope Hannibal (Smith, not Lecter) is right about "plans coming together".

    @@AMPROEngineering Honestly, Matt (Scale Builder's Guild) gave me the idea. He did the Sand Scorcher build videos using your parts, and, knowing he normally does crawlers, that's what gave me the idea to attempt this. I will be doing a build thread in the RCC forum.

    Awesome! The details and thought are mind blowing. How do you find the patience? My beetle will be just fun to drive, just full of admiration for people who can apply themselves so well to what starts as an idea. Hate to see it tho, after that epic hard work and thinking it's finished, you'd still got the door mirrors to do! Also a low profile servo would give less space to mount esc and receiver if you want straighter steering links, hope that helps someone.

  • @AMPROEngineering

    @AMPROEngineering

    3 жыл бұрын

    Oh no, i had no patience! Haha! That is why this took 8 years. Work for a few hours, get mad...stop for 8 months...work for an hour, get mad, stop for year.... I didn't do the mirrors as someone on Shapeways makes amazing ones that I have now installed. As for the servo, there are two mounts for it, standard and low profile. I try and make as much for standard parts as I can.

    This project is totally awesome! I love custom projects. Factory builds is nice, but I do love custom projects way more. Same goes for real cars, orginal is ok, but custom or built to your taste is way better. Nobody decorates their home the same way as the next person, why should it not apply to cars as well? Well done sir! Regarding custom Tamiya projects, I'm currently building a 4x4 Lunchbox with DF01 Manta Ray parts. To make it a but harder, my goal is to not modify the Lunchbx bathtub in any way. Yes it will have the orginal tub, but with DF01/TA02 drivetrain :-)
