The original game took about 10 years to develop, and the plan to release a DLC that is an entire new island is quite big when compared to the original game's content size I think it is safe to say it is actually pretty quick EDIT: Nvm they are actually taking their time

Sandro TLOU2 has a very high completition % and a very popular and easy platinum for achievement hunters, a lot of people who feel into the trap did play it to the end... but Ghost of Tsushima is legendary with way higher completition % and universal praise (don’t hate TLOU2 like most but would never pick for 60, or 30, perhaps if it was free on PS+?)

@@josetomascamposrobledano4618 the last of us 2 has a completion rate of 58 while ghost is 51. A big reason ghost is “highly praised” is because tlou2. Look at viewer meta critic scores. A big amount of them just trash tlou2. I’m not saying ghost doesnt deserve love, I bought it on release and enjoyed it. Tlou2 is actually universally praised more than ghost. Look at the awards. And not the critic awards. The readers CHOICE awards chosen by the people. Tlou2 has the highest readers choice than any other game in the world. Yeah ghost isn’t worth any more 20, it’s good but not amazing.

Yeah, that's E3 alright. Major highs, major lows, I liked it enough, but it kinda leaves a sour aftertaste in my mouth the more I think about it.

I loved the performances at Sony’s stage. The performance by Gustavo Santaolalla, and the shakuhachi guy is literally one of the top masters of the instrument in the world, and is revered even in Japan

At least this year's E3 was miles better than last year's. E3 2018 to me was complete crap, but E3 2019 to me was solid. Microsoft kept the game train rolling, Square Enix cleaned up their act and showed some killer titles, and Nintendo kicked major ass!

This being my first E3, I freaking loved it. Of course I'm a huge smash bros fan so that combined with my lack of expectations helped a lot.

Would have liked to see an unveiling of a new Pikmin, Luigi's mansion sequel, Kid Icarus, Yoshi update, or an actual trailer for Metroid Prime 4, but Nintendo will be Nintendo at these E3's. Not terrible overall but yeah, so much wasted potential for SOMETHING. Great video as always, Scott!

I wouldn't have called it "awful," but just "eh." I mean I'm glad that Mario Party's more or less going back to its roots and we're getting more information about this new Fire Emblem game, but if you're not into tactical RPG's or games that can easily ruin friendships then this just was a waste of time. The Woz certainly helped hammer it in for me that the Direct was kind of underwhelming because, like Nintendo, I was a little more focused on Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Not sure why Scott complained about them not showing "1 or 2 new game announcements" at 26:22 when they announced Super Mario Party and Fire Emblem: Tres Leches. I mean they also made it clear they were focusing on 2018 and it's pretty obvious besides some early 2019 titles that they stuck to 2018 and we already knew most of that.

+ew275x Yeah, Metroid Prime 4, Bayonetta 3 and Yoshi are all obviously (mid to late) 2019, so it wouldn't make sense to cram them all into E3, because then we'd have too many games mentioned with not enough to talk about, because they're far from finished. And, it was pretty obvious that Nintendo were focussing on Smash Bros.; anyone surprised by that needs their heads examined. Nintendo Directs reveal stuff in a wayyyy more controlled manner than E3 does.

I'm still not 100% sold 1: The title is fucking dumb 2: The formation mechanic looks neat but it kinda makes the battle impersonal 3: Except for Eldegard, the character design looks weak Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of things I like though 1: Eldegard's design 2: The story and music feels like FE 3: Castle exploration looks sick 4: I'm just excited because it's been more than 10 years since the last console FE

fe and xenoblade were the show winners for me. Mario Party is not for me even when it's done right and I like that Smash sounds like it's going to have more for gamers which is nice and I like mele but as far as nintendo ips go xenoblade is my favorite and I could go for some console quality fire emblems.

Fusion I think the recent games are really good in the gameplay department and great for newcomers

Fire Emblem alone is worth 5 knee slaps

You know, I was super excited for SONY's conference, since I wasn't feeling the rest of the previous conferences... And it... Well, it speaks for itself. It was a pretty low point. So I was thinking "All right, well, the door's WIDE open. There is no conceivable way that Nintendo won't blow me away after the sheer nothing I've felt all throughout E3. I am so pumped for Metroid and Bayonetta; to just see ANYTHING from those is gonna get me excited! And man, that feeling combined with all the NEW things they'll announce that I don't know about? This is free! I'm gonna enjoy this so much!" and then ...just... ... Man, it's gonna be ROUGH going into E3 2019, constantly struggling between those feelings of "Well, I have to be excited because there's no way it can be worse than 2018" and "wait a second i got excited for this same reason last year and was burned".

I feel ya. The crazy thing is nintendos direct had console fire emblems, an exclusive square enix game(we already new about it and it was about to be released but still) and a full xenoblade prequal that's not just dlc but actually it's own game now, but the direct showed so little of those that I almost forgot they were there although they did show more of xenoblade and octopath over the course of e3 I don't remember there being much fe and so what should've been a saving grace for e3 was just kind of ok. Seriously though just some yoshi, metroid, and/or bayonetta 3 footage would've easily made it great. All I can say is Nintendo's lucky i'm a complete sucker for xenoblade stuff.

Alan YaKnow I would’ve settled for another jpeg of Metroid Prime 4. Or just a screenshot of an environment. Or even just “oh, btw, we’re still working on Metroid, nothing to show yet.” C’mon, you can’t just drop a bomb like Metroid Prime 4 and say nothing a whole year later.

At least Nintendo had Smash. It's not the most exciting thing ever (except for having Snake and Mewtwo back, I will sell the souls of my unborn children to get to play with Mewtwo again) but it's at least _something_ unlike, well, everyone else....

Howdy Folks! Gaming I believe it was done by a different dev team than the one that did Origins - with yearly franchises they tend to rotate developers. That means this one has been in development for about as long as Origins potentially

VikingSchism Yeah, but tgat means that they can't have fixed criticisms of Origins to make the new game a lot better

Hey, I'm from the future. I need to tell you that people haven't gotten over E3 2018 like you've predicted. Everyone is still going crazy over Unraveled 2. Our society is revolving around the E3 2018 fandom. Our currency is Battlefield 5 lootboxes. It's utter hysteria.

Id sum it up this year as " ok " next year will be insane. There where things I was excited about but no real major surprises
