I’ve worked for an unfitting company before unless you plan on using ratchet straps with them as he said. A good way to secure the e track is to drill a 1/4 hole with a stopper so you don’t go through the exterior wall. Then rivet it with 1/4 rivets every metal stud there is along where you are putting the e track if in a trailer. If you are in a van you can just molly the wall instead of rivets and bolt it down.
Carson, thank you for taking the time to share. I'm starting a new lawn business and your videos have been a great help. Thanks again and God bless.

Thanks great video. Pretty well what I thought but nice to confirm. Stay safe.
I'm trying to install etracks in my ford transit with 2 tracks on the floor and some ply wood. Can I go to someone and pay them to install it?
Thank you for your video it was really helpful
How would you feel about putting small 1” wood screws along the wall just to help screw the E track for pulling?

Yes, the more screws the better. It all depends on how much vertical weight you are putting on the track; as well as how much side to side leverage when it's on the road.
Thinking of installing these and using them as a way to strap heavy items inside my trailer with ratchet straps. Would these e-tracks be able to handle that or will they rip out?

Depends how you secure them. They usually do okay with lots of hanging weight. We have several hand tools hanging on the trailer (shovels, rakes, brooms, pick ax's, sledge hammers, etc... pretty heavy stuff. We did have one e-track rip out of the wall after a few years of abuse. But straps are a different story. Lots of potential pulling force. For a heavier duty setup I will use screws and self tappers to the plywood walls and metal "studs;" maybe even run a bolt through the wall to the exterior. The additional plywood usually helps for heavier applications. We have another video on the channel installing a Harbor Freight tool box. You might see more techniques in that video.

Why did you not use an Oscillating tool to cut out the extra material

Didn’t have one at the time.
What size self tap?
You think it’s safe I’m starting a detailing business I have a 250 gallon tank which is approximately 2000 pounds when full is it safe to put two pieces of e tracks on each With ratchet straps pulling thanks let me know

I would recommend looking up the specs on the e-track. Keep in mind, posted specs will likely be for a static load. Even with baffles in your tank I would suspect the dynamic load from moving water would be much higher. Ultimately the number of e-tracks and straps would depend on the correct load rating. Also keep in mind the e-track is only as strong as your mounts. On my enclosed trailer wouldn’t trust self tapping screws and the thin frame supports. It would need to be floor mounted and bolted through and possibly even adding extra steel support plates.

Think the max weightcrating is usually about 660 on the ones I've seen. I dont think 2 will be enough. Also a lot of weight on the trailer wall.
Never put your hand where your chisel can slip and cut your hand.
When would oyu have pulling pressure? Just curious, in your opinion, if installing those packout drawyers would the extra plywood in between be necessary or what about any packout accessories for that case?

Depends what you are attaching. Even a vertical load will have some downward and outward force. We have had the e-track rip out of the wall, even when securely mounted to the metal wall studs. The thin plywood doesn't have much bite, nor do self tapping screws in the thin frame metal. Using additional plywood even 1/4 will help give you something more substantial for your mounting hardware to secure your cargo.

What size screws would you use then when screwing 1/4 plywood in as a brace? Just bought a big enclosed trailer and will be installing e track and we use ratchet straps to help secure our loads so definitely want as much strength as I can get
Nice job

What’s the thickness of your plywood walls?

They are pretty thin. Maybe 1/4”.
Hi, I’m starting a business and someone wants this installed in their trailer. How much should I charge for my labor/ work? Thank you!
@ThriftyGarage

Add up your annual cost of doing business, labor, insurance, overhead, profit, etc… and divide by your estimated annual billable hours. Add job related costs such as materials and that is what you should charge.
Do you have any photos of the front shelf set up?
