I don’t mind that Elf dupes, Not everyone can afford the high-end brands so this is a nice alternative. Hey if they are allowed to do it why not?

To be honest I wouldn’t even bother with high ended mascara anyways I mean I regret it twice now I bought both high ended and trending mascara like the L’Oréal Telescopic mascara and Maybelline High Sky mascara came to a conclusion that neither of them actually work… they got make my lashes stick together and make them look really horrible and clampy… I love elf there soo affordable and has to be one of my MOST FAV brands there concelour is perfect unlike other concelour which are patchy and dry and super hard to actually blend out I prefer elf over any high end brand actually thinking to get the Elf Roller mascara now instead

I love that elf is dupeing big brands! I always say if they didn’t make their products so expensive then a dupe wouldn’t be needed. Pulse roller lash has been out forever so people have had time to get it they want. I do understand that smaller indie brands shouldn’t be touched in terms of dupes but elf is not doing that. ❤

I agree. Also, I wouldn't spend $27 on a mascara so I wouldn't be a Benefit customer anyways. My boyfriend always says that I have champagne tastes on a water pocketbook. Elf allows me to do that. lol

I don’t mind Elf dupes one bit! They are duping larger companies that overcharge for makeup anyways. Thank you for doing this video

I’ve never tried Elf mascara. Definitely something worth checking into. I’m okay with with the dupes as long as it’s not from small brand companies as you discussed in a previous video. Personally I think the Elf did a better job on your lashes. Thanks Jen!

Hi Jen, you can make your mascara smudge proof. Dip your eyeshadow brush into your translucent setting powder, then tap of the excess. Apply a tiny just to the tips of your lashes after applying mascara and youre set for the day regardless of your eye creams.

I’m so happy to see the results you got as I had always heard good things about the Benefit one but since they are not cruelty free that’s a no-go for me so the elf one it is! 😊

As a creative, I would think designing the packaging would be one of the most exciting parts to releasing a new product. Us drugstore enthusiasts keep an eye on new drugstore products so I would still want to try out Elf’s new mascara regardless if it looked like Too Faced or not!

6$ vs 26$ well that sets it for me. Elf wins. I don’t know why companies dupe the packaging, except it shows the similarities. I would place a small stripe down the tube to identify my product. Less law suits. The public could see the difference between the two.

Imo the ELF side looked longer, which appeals to me because my lashes are poor little stubby things. Although I might try the mascara in the purple tube ( I forgot the name but I have it written down for my next trip to dollar general) before ELF. Thank you for all the recommendations and showing what they look like! Stay warm!

This is incredible. I’m with you about ELF’s mascaras. I have always loved ELF but that was the one product I could never like. I have no problem with the duping. They do a great job and they make it affordable for everyone.

This is great news! Benefit Roller Lash is my absolute fav mascara of all time but is $36 here in Canada, which is highway robbery so I'm looking forward to this hopefully coming here 🤞

I immediately thought the elf side looked more curled, volumized and separated and had a much more fluttery natural look. I’m a little biased because I don’t like Benefit mascaras - they always seem to go for, well, va-va-voom and are way too dark and prone to clumping for me

I’m definitely going to grab this. I use mostly drugstore/budget-friendly products, and I try to shop only cruelty-free brands. I don’t have a problem with Elf duping some of the iconic products from big-name brands-like you were talking about in your other video on dupes.

Definitely gonna try this when it gets to ulta! Benefit roller lash is my hg mascara so a cheaper alternative will be great! I do honestly think your eye with the elf looked more lifted and natural

Hi Jen, this video was perfect timing this morning, I paused the video and went to Elf’s website immediately to grab that mascara (it looked amazing on you and that Roller Lash is one of my favorites) and to my happy surprise they had re-stocked the Halo Glow in a limited stock and I was finally able to grab one in the shade I wanted, I’ve been wanting this forever, so thank you for this video otherwise I wouldn’t have even gone to their website. I also saw a new Grip primer (I hadn’t bought the other one yet) the Power Grip Primer + 4% Niacinamide, added that to my order too. Ok, I’m finally back home now off to finish watching your video.❤

I’m interested to try the ELF one. It definitely looked more curled to me! Loving the Vlogmas intro-especially the shots of your area when you are out driving. You live in such a charming part of the country! My favorite from last year was when you showed us that fancy grocery store. This year, I loved the Gilmore Girls town and its extra-nice CVS. Did elf finally make a great mascara?! I'm so excited because their price point is so good! I'm surprised that you didn't have to curl your lashes before applying, especially on the elf side. I usually get smudging with mascara so I'm really impressed with this elf formula!

This one is definitely my favorite from them. It didn't smudge on me at all.

Helpful hint. When applying mascara hold mirror near your chin and look down into the mirror. It helps to not hit your upper lid with the wand. I have a strong brow and hooded eyes so it’s so easy to hit with the brush. Hopefully this will work for you‼️

The roller lash is great and I never pay full price, always get them on sale but I stopped buying it because the cap always comes apart from the applicator handle. I've had three (mini and full size) and this has happened. Benefit needs to dupe Elf's packaging!🤣

I did the same test with side by side, very similar. I’m partial to roller ball and bad gal but I liked the elf mascara specially for the price !

Hi Jen - I am going to give the ELF mascara a try. I like a drier formula and a plastic comb like brush to separate. I’ve tried the too faced years ago and wasn’t that impressed. You have the prettiest eye color! They look teal.

Great point about mascara not smudging in winter. I use so much sunscreen, etc in summer . I think Elf is better on you. Now I will order on elf ( sale) 2 elf mascaras, a mini eyeshadow , and holy hydration cream with Free ship for 19.!! If u didn’t find us dupes, honestly I wouldn’t be able to buy Xmas gifts and occasional new dupes for myself!! Usually they release new products on their website first and then later on it shows up in stores. But it might be several weeks before that happens. :)

I was really interested in seeing your take on this. I always thought the Benefit Roller Lash was way overpriced for what it does. This e.l.f. mascara looks really promising! And yes to climate and skincare related factors. They will make a difference in how much product transfers when you blink. ☺️😘

Haha we get traffic here too but mostly on the highways and roads that have traffic lights. It can get pretty backed up in those places, hence why I always take the back roads! They're usually nice and wide open! 🥰

Roller Lash was my holy grail before I decided to buy cruelty free. I'll have to try this.

So glad this got a good review! I just got it, but I haven't opened it yet. I don't mind e.l.f. duping as much as other brands because they also come up with excellent quality original products and sometimes they go on to add twists to the products they duped (I think there's a new version of the sticky primer?). Plus they seem to dupe products that have been out for a while, so the high-end brands have had plenty of time to build their brand loyalty. That said, I think they should come up with more original packaging. They could always say "compare to..." or something in product descriptions instead of directly ripping the look.

Wow, I have to use the one hand to apply my mascara, I always seem to make a mess when trying to use my left hand when applying mascara to my left eye. I agree the Elf side does look a little nicer😊

I would really like to try this elf mascara one day, since with my budget I can't afford a high end one but I also want a great formula.

In general, I like dryer formulas, so I might give this a try if it’s stocked in store at any of the retailers that carry ELF. Roller Lash came out so long ago that I feel they had their time to shine. Plus, the formula is slightly different being that one is dryer, that might be a deal breaker for those that preferred the wetter formula.

I love your channel and you and I love that you give us options. I tend to be a high-end girl, but I'm like you I want it to be the best. I love your channel because I have found drug store alternatives that are better than high-end, and I love saving some money so I can give the money that I saved to charity. I’m personally grateful for dupes now that I’m on a fixed income. I love seeing color cosmetics specially their newer formulas oh my goodness! Same with profusion but they come out with their own I’m fine with dupes
