What did you use for axles? I have 3mm screws but I would rather have something that isn't threaded across the entire length. I have a set of Dave Brown 3 1/2" wheels on it. Very light and soft.

I took the axles from an E-Flite Clipped wing cub.

So, V2 will have bigger wheels like your mod, have lights, be a top loader and be optional 3S or 4S? 😊

This is V2 but yes a V2 should include these things and a more sturdy built.

Hello, I can't get my Valiant to take off from grass. Even though I put larger wheels on it, and the grass is not long, the plane insists on nosing over when I give it takeoff throttle. I've seen videos of many who successfully take off from grass with the smaller original wheels and skirts. Is it a matter of balance? Right now it's very slightly nose-heavy. Thanks for any suggestions or comments.

In my experience with Turbo Timber wheels it behaves good with more or less no nose over. These wheels rolls very easy on the axle. Grass is not always the same. Wet grass for instance is much more sticky than dry grass and if the grass surface is smooth without pits that also makes a difference. This is a very light weight plane so to move the battery as far rear as possible also helps.

As I said, there are many videos of stock "original" Valiants flying off grass, even with wheel pants. My grass runway is dry and relatively short blades. So it's not the grass and not the wheels, must be something else.
