E-Collar Training- Train a Dog to Come When Called Using an Electric Collar Humanely

TytheDogGuy.com/FreeCourse
There are some folks who even HEAR the words 'electric dog training collar' and they lose their minds.
"Ahhh! Shock collars! Are you a monster???"
That's okay, they simply aren't educated on it's use.
Frankly, most people who like e-collars aren't educated on their use either.
But if you're someone who thinks electric collar training is all about shock, pain, fear, and force, you couldn't be more wrong.
With today's modern collars e-collar training is all about communication and teaching. It's not some tool for being a brute to your dog.
Done right, actually, e-collar training is about the MOST humane way you can train a dog.
(I know, people are going to argue that just using treats is the most humane way. It's not. Just using treats ignores the science behind how dogs learn)
Corrections in dog training are important.
But corrections in humane dog training need to be centered around TEACHING, not hurting.
That's why an E collar is such a great tool. We can use very low levels and TEACH our dogs, rather than constantly punishing or disciplining.
The reality is that the stimulation (it's not even a shock with today's modern collars) from the collar is NOT painful, NOT harmful, and can do SOOO much to teach your dog about focus, obedience training, and so much more.
When you do the training right...
In this video I'm going to show you how to gain focus and a 'come' command with the collar.
Training a dog to come when called is one of the most fundamental things that we do to fix behavior problems including aggression, running off, and so much more.
Enjoy!

My 6mth old Australian Shepherd is great, comes when called, BUT the only place for him to run free is on the beach in Rio… he can quickly get overwhelmed with smells, birds, bins and people. The problem is there is no safe space… from beach to highway in 15metres. I know if he sees me walking away he will follow. All he needs is an ‘emergency stop and think’. Thanks for the video! His collar training will start today! 😉

Thanks for the video, but WHY did you have to have the background music going? It was VERY annoying when trying to listen you in addition to all of the other noises on the video.

You said not to buy 40 or 50 dollar collars from Amazon because they are no good. Why? What makes them no good, or what are the differences in one of those and one thats hundreds of dollars? Could you please clarify why.

I appreciate the video on E- Collar training. I just purchased one for dual purpose use. It serves as both an electirc fence and a training collar. I needed something to prevent my dogs from leaving the driveway when we install an automatic gate. The fence portion will only cross the threshold of the gate. The purpose for the training E collar s that my Standard Poodle inappropriately gets overly excited and bolts at people walkng in the yard and grabs at their arms with his teeth. It's inappropriate "playing" and it's dangerous.. I will use the collar for training him not to do this. My question is this: Should I never use the collar for postiive training? like the "come" command? He also will not come when called when he is excited in the yard. ( such as when a workman needs to get in the back yard). I would love your feedback on this use.

It would be considered "static simulation" instead of a hard shock? Im seeing a product with 15 levels of static simulation

Hello....what is wrong with a lower priced e collar if lowest setting used? I just received one but now feel like I should return it? Please clarify, thank you.

Agree, it's not really clear which collar is recommended. Most of the ones listed on Amazon are in the price range he said. Ty, can you recommend a particular collar that works with this type of training?

@@markwitt2788 yes I think you are correct. Quite a few trainers recommend this brand of e-collar. I just bought one 1/2 price used, so check your local buy sell groups. My GS just needs to wear one and I can forget about it because she listens to me. I only use it if she gets out of sight or there is a high distraction event. It really helps with off leash recall when they are stubborn.

Other collars may or may not work well or for very long. You want a low stimulation that the dog feels as a signal to respond. I have had cheap ones $60-$150, that go from nothing to too strong a stim in only a few levels. With not much between so ineffective as a training tool. The trainers use and suggest this brand they should know, it is what they do. (My $150 collar fell apart and stopped working.)

Watch the whole video the E collar is humane and Very different from the shock collar the e collar is just a vibration like the one you feel when you get a text, and your phone is a vibration is annoying but it does not hurt. Educate yourself before talking.
