    Let him know it has 2000cc Dynamics injectors and that cam gear was never degreed when I owned the car. We installed the cams and kept them at 0 degrees. So that needs to be put back to 0 unless you're okay with it.

    @@guitars415 nice thanks yeah wasnt sure what injectors were in it just that they were 2000cc and the one is set back to 0 the other is retarded like 1 or 2 degrees. Ill probably set it to 0 before the car gets retuned this spring.

    So this is my old car. I'm so happy seeing it get some love. It has 2000cc Dynamics injectors. That intake came gear was never degreed that means it must have slipped! It needs to be put back to 0. Send me a message if you need more info on internals. I can send you a full list of ever part in that engine. Engine was built by Fullblown Motorsports and tuned by Shane at DB Performance. Here's the video making 615whp at 31psi. 64% duty cycle. If you have ignition problems change out the accel coil or install an external coil or go coil on plug. kzread.info/dash/bejne/n5qcmJqdetKye8Y.html

    Patience of a Saint. Glad it worked out for the owner. Quick checklist of basic things to do before a tune should always be done though. Fresh plugs (heat range and gap) from your tuner Fluids Clamps Vacuum Cam gear bolts 😗 Working cooling system Timing You put the time and money into the build take the extra time to make sure it's ready. Awesome build though and great results.

    On a Few different turbo platforms that I've had, they all seemed to run better with copper ngk plugs, vs iridium plugs. Idk why but that was my experience and the best part is they are cheaper anyway, just have to change them more frequently than iridiums.

    @@popiwatv I have a dyno too and own a shop and I’m just telling you in my opinion, I wouldn’t even touch an ignition map without a dyno. Put all of your ignition timing under positive pressure to 8 degrees and drive it to the dyno to tune ignition. You would be an idiot to do it any other way

  • @popiwatv

    @popiwatv

    @@Turboboob ok that's what I wanted to know. And what's a good base for low cam map of ignition tables? Assuming a basemap will have it all over the place. I want to know how to set them to a good starting point and what it should look like. Under 8 degrees under boost and out of boost should be? Unless I'm not understanding.

  • @Turboboob

    @Turboboob

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@popiwatv yes, you are correct. Depending on how much boost you are running and the compression ratio of the engine will determine the starting point. Obviously you would start tuning at low boost levels below 8 psi and work your way up. At a 10:1 compression ratio and only 8 degrees of advance in boost you will be nowhere near mbt. You will need a dyno to optimize timing for max power. I just tuned a vitara longrod d16 on e85 that made 575 whp at 8500rpm 38lbs of boost and only 8 degrees of timing. Just for reference. Every setup is different.
