It still is. The cinematic theme of history & "sands of time", and the outro scene of every character. That music score going into the sky... brings a tear of joy to my eye. 😂

My childhood game, one of my favorites couch coop game in ps2 that me and my cousin love to play.

DW 5 is peak DW. I still play it to this day. I'm getting every characters 4th weapons and rare items right now.

Def need more people doing vids on warriors games, I get the feeling that almost every fan has been around since 3, 4, and 5 so it feels good to reminisce as a community. Keep cookin bro

to be honeost Dynasty warriors 5 is the best dynasty warriors series so far. hands down. even though its old it has the spirit of the old age.

historically, AFAIK, Zhao Yun and Lu Bu never even met

dw4 and dw5 is the best dynasty warriors game, dw8 is more like anime for me

You love how hype the intro is, even though neither in the musou, or even in history, they ever met

I will forever love this game. It was one of the best parts of my childhood.

Whilst Wu is probably my least favourite of the Three Kingdoms, I still love many of the Wu characters. Particularly Lu Meng and Sun Jian but over the past couple years I've gained a lot more appreciation for the likes of Zhou Yu, Zhou Tai and Sun Shang Xiang. I mean this is my favourite game series. There's few things I dislike about it overall.

Ric flair favorite kingdom was Wu

It's really difficult for me to say which game is best of 3, 4 and 5, they each do something ever so slightly better than one another and each offer a complete 10 out of 10 experience, so I'd say peak is actually all three of them, but it's nice to see 5 getting the attention it deserves!

5 is my favorite in the series.. game is so good

I still play this game in my PS2 and in my phone till now

I love Dynasty Warriors 5. But for a more hardcore difficulty experience? Dynasty Warriors 3 and 3 Extreme Legends. -Crossbows and Bows that hit really hard and are accurate. -Mooks that know how to combo you in the air like a volleyball. -Enemies that will HEAL when it's inconvenient for you. Heaven forbid it was LU BU. -Better keep moving because they will not stand by for long when they surround you.

For those of you that still want a three kingdoms fix in a more modern game, Total War: Three Kingdoms scratched that itch for me. Same iconic characters and stories in a lite grand strategy/rts package. (I have a list of mods that enhance the game even further if you end up trying it). I loved these games when i was a kid, and i loved learning about The Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the fall of the Han in my adulthood.

Your so wrong the best dynasty warriors was 4 extreme legands it had all the weapons and a create a character who could use any weapon you wished and all weapons had a 10th level that when you got it made you a God and all the orbs could go to level 5 and they had custom horses and saddles as well it was so fun it took me 9 months to get everything and unlock all characters

@@corromist7262 true the only dynasty warriors I didn't like was when they started changing the weapons that the characters where known for and started giving them things that didn't fit like when they took the flute from zhenji and gave her a whip or a scepter she was always best with the flute

4 and 5 are amazing. Along with samurai warriors 2. Peak of an era. Sadly its downhill from there

Great video, I only disagree with the part about Wu being the best, how can the best invade a castle with 100,000 people and lose to a guy leading 800, but they are definitely better than Shu.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with those vertical lines coming from the emulator. Does anyone have a fix?

WU is the best kingdom people who dont have personality goes to Shu people who likes to being the baddies goes to Wei People who has personality and really know how to do it goes to Wu

DW3XL was the peak tbh. Until we got Empire's titles the games never got better after 3. Then it peaked again at 7 empires.

Agree, DW3 was the peak, but in terms of story the peak could be DW7 and DW8 was good too imo it had a very memorable Wu Zhang Plains and Fan Castle.
