I can definitely use this! Thank you for sharing. I am wondering how you debrief this. Have you seen applications beyond creative thinking? I'd like to apply this to a new manager training or to management skills in some way. Thanks again :)

great stuff! I am having a dinner at a public restaurant with about 20 people. what can we play while not getting up from our table? i think the lateral thinking "come to my party" is a fun easy exercise we can do without needing to get up.

This past year has been difficult because we have been unable to meet in-person, so the production of training videos has stopped,. But we have been very busy creating wonderful online or virtual experiences for groups. Click the Virtual tab on our activity search tool - www.playmeo.com/activities/

I don't feel comfortable in such an activity in a workplace settings. In my opinion this is a suitable activity for a group of family members, good friends or army unit, but not in the workplace.

Thanks for your comment Keren. I can understand your concern but do keep in mind, that an activity like this is only ever recommended as part of a well-sequenced program of activities which gradually builds the trust of its group members. For this particular group, this exercise was presented towards the end of a full day of activities (and they were all new to each other at the start of the day.) I have used it with groups from a workplace setting (not to mention with many other groups) many times with great success.

@@playmeo-group-games I can see your point of view. If I was a summer camp instructor I would have used this for sure! It's a great activity to built team work and bond over some good laughs. For work I'll stick with safer activities, ones that don't trigger or violate people's personal space and body.

Thanks for sharing Tori. in my experience, every group approaches the problem with a different solution, and in many cases, do not touch at all. No matter the time period or century you may be presenting this exercise, you must always present it sensitive to the needs of your group. If you don't think your group is ready for this type of challenge, then you have two choices - prepare them appropriately, or don't do it. Have fun.

I hear what you're saying, and while this exercise was recorded in Australia, I have lead it successfully many times in North America. The key to its success (indeed, the success of any activity) is the sequence and framing you use to introduce it. Visit my blog www.playmeo.com/blog for lots of articles about this and many other topics of activity leadership
