DYLON Hand Dye. Tie Dye Without Boiling.

5:11 The Result
It was very easy to use the dye at home. I didn't have to boil it at all.
Like with any at-home dying process, you need to be ready for splashes and stains. Because of that, it is a good idea to prepare a room beforehand, so it is easier to clean it up afterward.
Most suitable fabrics are cotton, linen and viscose. The dye will not work on pure synthetic fabrics, including synthetic threads.
Consider colour mixing rules!
Directions:
1) Weigh dry fabric, wash thoroughly.
2) Dissolve dye in 500ml warm water. Use rubber gloves.
3) Fill bowl/stainless steel sink with approximately6 liters warm water (40°C / 104°F).
4) Stir in 250g (10 tbsp) salt. Add dye and stir well.
5) Submerge fabric in dye water.
6) Stir for 15 minutes, then stir regularly from time to time 45 minutes.
7) Rinse fabric in cold water.
8) Wash in warm water and dry away from direct heat and sunlight.

    Definitely try it. If for some reason the color should still leak, you can use Marabu batik color fixer to fix it. I will also make a video about it in the future. But generally the normal process is enough. The cloth materials are just different.

    There’s this trend on tiktok where you do kisses hoddie to your boyfriend. I decide to do this on t-shirt. Do you think its okay to use only 500ml water with 5 tbs spoon salt and only 1/2 of the dye. Will that work? Also I will be using my lips and hands on the fabric will something bad happen to me?

    Sorry for taking so long to reply. The shirt should be weighed and the exact instructions on the dye label should be followed.

    Why dosent the seam change colour? The seam remains white.

  • @kluukart

    Sewing thread is usually a synthetic fiber such as polyester. The color does stick to the natural thread. In most cases, the seams are made of polyester fiber. Many fabric dyes and paints only stick to natural fabric fibers.

    Hi, just estimation, how many shirt I can dye with 250g of fabric?

  • @kluukart

    @kluukart

    If you dye the shirt evenly, about two t-shirts at most. If in the batik technique, that means curled together, you can paint more at once. Even 6 in batik. In this case, I recommend bundling tightly.

    @@kluukart How about if I want to use it on my jeans? Is 1 pack enough for 1 jeans? Thanks for the reply!

  • @kluukart

    @kluukart

    @@iminviiiiiiinsible88 I think one pack is enough but you can still calculate by the weight of the fabric (one pack per 250g fabric). It has happened to me when dyeing jeans that the paint bleeds. In this case, I have also used batik color fixer. For example Marabu's.

    The result may be slightly lighter than indicated on the package. If it suits, of course you can. If I were to paint myself, I wouldn't buy another pack because of it.

    Unfortunately, KZread no longer allows you to add notes to a video. I can't change the video either. But the principle is still probably clear, that in the case of dyeing, colors are mixed and the result can be unpredictable.
