I think it is touchy because I think the skate community wants to remember him for what he was. In my opinion one of the best of all time but if you let the wrong people become too aware you are gonna have a b movie with someone like a failed model playing him eventually. I think what Dill and FA do to honor him is more of what he would want.

Rest in peace, it's weird I'm not even sad anymore, I'm just glad that I existed around the same time on the same planet as him and bore witness to the beautiful life he shared with the world. He's not gone to me he's only transcended to a higher plane of existence. He isn't dead, he'll live on in the hearts of many forever.

Heath was kind of a fresh of breath air in this series for not kissing his ass the whole time. Others are saying he's an asshole
"But he never had a drinking problem" lmao great way to end that.

drug addiction... that explains the Elliott Smith song in his Workshop part haha
I wish VICE kept this series going as it’s the only time us fans of skating ever get an insight into our favorite skaters lives. RIP Dylan, legends never die.
rest easy, Dylan. You'll never be forgotten. Happy you're in peace now and not suffering.
Still feeling sad but so nice to know that there are thousands of people feeling the same! #fuckforever RIP a true legend
This series is really good, tells the story of the skater (Dylan) really well.
That impossible over the bench in NYC gives me goosebumps every time i see it...
rip bro. gone so young. such a big loss to the skateboarding community. you are a legend and you always be one of my greatest inspiration in skateboarding. shred in heaven dude
the amount of "like" and "you know" is amazingly amusing. it seems that everything is fading...kinda like...you know?

Some of these guys are not the most articulate lol.
I think people are missing the dichotomy between how Heath explained living with Dylan when you're a little older and your focused on skating opposed to being young and carefree, he's just telling it how it is, no big diss on Dylan or some over hyped attitude shit, maby I'm just older now and I'm different from how I used to skate when I was in my 20's
why the fuck did they keep this part the most fucking interseting untill the last episode...love his skateing and style for days
I love Heath’s explanation here “I just hate you now” lol
Glad he got out of that bad phase in his life. I've always backed him though
“He’s making this little Gravis Part”-goes on to make the most influential single part of the decade
He has the best style of skateboarding ever

This reminds me of a friend of mine who i grew up skating with. He was the gnarliest out of all of us surfing and skating and couldve gone pro but turned to drugs and has been in and out of rehab since. Glad dylan saw through that bullshit. RIP dawg
Cannot believe he is gone, RIP
Kicking a pill habit the way he did speaks vplumes about his character. He made a commitment and kept his word followong through on one of the hardest habits to kick. It also shows he isnt an addict and just got caught up getting high to mask the emotion struggkes n stresses of the moment. Either way love hearing stories of self control and will power prevailing
Make a 5th part to this epicly later'd

MrWoodAndWheels they really need too
What's so cool about this is you have all the anticipation from Long, Kirchart and shit about his Gravis part, but when it dropped it just blew all expectations and everyone away. Like purist skateboarders, tastemakers, scenesters, industry people and haters - no one could deny how good it was. He was one of the best skaters you wanted to dislike but he combined power with style and none of it looked contrived. I only wish they'd done this episode posthumously cause it would've afforded way more candid responses from everyone.
this guy has always been my favorite
It's funny how displeased everyone was with him with mindfield but his part ended up becoming the most memorable
I'm sure everyone wants a Dylan movie

I was fortunate enough to have the chance to meet Dylan and talk to him personally for 10 minutes. he is not pretentious, he is not a hipster, and he was a genuinely good person. I was very fortunate to be able to spend the time that I had with him. he was not stuck up or egotistical in any way.

That’s amazing man, what did you guys talk about?
I will always remember one of my friends telling me about seeing the footage of him doing the impossible over that bench and thinking that's fucking insane. No one can do that. That's one of those weird 9/11 moments you will never forget. RIP in peace Dylan. Cant believe you have already been gone for over a year,
didn't even know about this dude before i heard he died, but whoa. inspirational stuff here. rip man.
"Dylan's like so good."
I loved Dylan, but I like how honest and no b.s. Heath is

you defiantly made your mark my dear friend!!! You will never be forgotten D!!!

it definitely did for the time. this was in 2012 lol all the people who found out about him later are thinking of stuff that happened after this
Trip out I barely am getting back into skating and my homeboy at work Johnny Juarez had a shirt r.i.p Dylan Reider. Next thing u know I'm talking to this guy he grew up with Dylan skating as kids they were really fucking close they did contests together and everything else with that life including the drugs... long story short my boy hasn't skated in like 4 years due to heiron and pills now I got him skating and shit it's a small world man..
rest in peace man, he's so beautiful u just wanna put a photo of him on ur wall its sad to see him go.

stop hating,in my opinion he is that way because he grew up skating with older boys(have you seen any friend in the video that is the same age as he is?)and that change the way he sees and understands the life you know? he was probably lost and he felt quite alone.
His gravis video is siiiick
Rest easy big guy, you fucking ripped and are an inspiration to many ;(

Very sad about Dylan. I didn't know who he was. Saw a picture of him on Biebel's instagram and went from there. Heath Kerchart or whatever his name is is wicked good looking. Wasn't he in that Bird video way back?
He may have alrdy starting having early affects of cancer or he knew he had it & it stressed him out bad. Rest in peace forever brother 🙌🏾❤️

Rest in peace lil bro
19-24... years old... prime years...
gnarly gnarly gnarly.... yeah dude Dylan's amazing, making chicks pay more attention to skating and all haha, but it's nice to see that he got out of pills and shit, he wouldve been just another kid wasting his career, or probably dead. Great doc VICE cant get tired of watching it, wishing someone could do something like this in my country, really great.
I feel like he had to be going through something to have a pill problem, he would sleep in a house all day and do pills nobody chooses to do that for no reason, he was probably heartbroken, I've been there

Infuhnite just confused. When you get on that binge you get fogged up and not really see what's happening or it's just an excuse to act out.
@pjf03131979
6 жыл бұрын
Infuhnite I agree... There had to be a reason to hide from his feelings. He even said that he was using to escape some kind of ill feelings or emotions. I do know that he had some real anxiety around groups of people though and with high expectation being placed on your shoulders to be a stud. That looming over you especially when combined with any underlying, untreated affliction could defiantly be suppressed with the aid of pills. I though it was benzodiazepines but when I see pictures of him during that time though, he looks and sounds like an opiate addict.
@Souran123

@@pjf03131979 He was feeling very drained and tired from staying up until 3 am at the alien workshop house, it took a toll mentally and it made him feel drained and tired. If only he had his own bedroom or went to bed kind of earlier , it would have made him feel more mentally stable and he would have produced a better video part ya feel me
