    Perfect execution of trench blasting. Not too much, not too little. When the subsurface is too hard to trench with mechanical means, use of explosives levels the playing field. It would be interesting to read specs; hole space, hole diameter, hole depth, delays, type of explosives, etc.

    We all love a good blasting video. Most people see the part when the detonation begins. They don't see days of drill, filling, stemming, hooking up wires or det cord. @@andreventer8734

    That looks amazing. I guess you blast it because it is material which is too hard to be removed unblasted by an excavator?

    No, too time consuming and therefore too costly. An excavator can use a hydraulic hammer to chip and hammer out the rock, but that is extremely slow compared to drilling holes and using explosives. So this is much faster, and therefore cheaper, even using the explosives.
