Valentine's Day Mystery Yarns are shipping now! www.etsy.com/listing/1390492653/mystery-valentines-day-yarn-2023-one
I was at work this morning, and so missed the debut of this episode, but my skein of yarn arrived right before I got off work and I love it! I really enjoyed watching the process. I'm so glad that you sent me the second dip dye skein! I love the way the colors worked out, and I'm already musing on what I will make with it. ❤❤ ❤ I'm always excited when I have the chance to be your lab partner! Thanks for that opportunity, Rebecca!

Thank you so much, Bernadette!!
"0.5%" had me giggling! Have you ever dip dyed successive yarn skeins in a single pot to get a fade set? You'd have to move fast, but it would be interesting. And the 1% dip dyed dos is so pretty .

That could be fun! I've done some by accident before but never on purpose.
Love your videos! 💙 Thank you! Hey do you ever reskein or double the yarn in the zip tie, so that the color repeat is shorter and will affect the color pooling differently when using it in a project? I’m kind of curious what the best way to approach a different repeat length is! Thanks.

This is a great question! I never double up the yarn in the zip tie because that makes it pretty thick and therefore harder to get the dye to penetrate... but there have been times when I've folded the skein in half to dip dye with the shorter length - just not connected with a zip tie (i hold one end in each hand to keep things from bunching up.) I do occasionally reskein yarn - but usually just to do something self striping or connected miniskein gradient. I have a self striping playlist on the channel where you can see some of those.
I can’t find a mill to spin my wool. I did send nine fleeces to a hobby mill but I have a one year wait for it’s return.😱

wow that's a long turnaround! I came across a mill in NH recently but I don't remember the name.
I am glad that you are careful to wear safety gear, but please put on some shoes to protect your feet when you are working with boiling drippy yarn!

I recommend a closed front clog. I got boiling water in my shoe once and it keeps boiling until you get your socks and shoes off. Clogs kick off and feet are free to cool!!!! 😂😂😂😂
Couldn't you find your blue dye? It's a shame you had to use such a pastel, pale, washed-out color. 😊 🔵

That blue is so intense!
Please check the microphone. You scream so loudly from the first seconds of the podcast. It's physically painful sometimes. Your videos are much louder than others. It's a shame because the content is great.

Thank you so much for this feedback! I'll try to check the levels going forward. I know I tend to over project at times.
