Wow, it looks like Discharge white base then a transfer "dye Sublimation maybe" and a total miss lol. look at the white edge. Screen printing would be way more cost effective with discharge ink compared to this.

WHITE COLOUR BASE NAME?

the whole point of doing the discharge underbase is to sublimate over it and sublimate on 100 percent cotton, i get it, but it looks like a lot of unnecessary steps in my book, and it looks like the sublimation print was garbage from the beginning. i really think this is an unexplored area of sublimation printing

Why not just use dark inkjet transfer paper with sublimation dyes .. then you wouldn't need all those steps, or screens .. and it wouldn't be off (like this design was on the left side, where the white is showing).

That's not true at all. If you buy quality Inkjet transfers (and follow the washing instructions) they last and look great. They also cost much less than these, are less steps, and use cheaper inks. I would not waste the money on this, considering the base product (on black and dark garments) is the issue (not the ink on the product). You can't buy the transfers from Hobby Lobby and expect a good product though.

Depends upon quality of paper and ink.... We have seen paper still good after 2 years and some paper washed off in a month

You can do the same thing with HTV and a vinyl cutter a lot cheap (and a lot easier too) with a laser color printer.

But the print ends up felling too stiff and is not too durable, some of the costumers complain, this seems like a great alternative for single piece orders instead of going through the whole process of preparing cmyk screens for one garment and with higher definition.

I would have used Siser Easy Subli. Print on paper place on Subli cut out and press for 45 seconds. I would have been done under 1 minute 30 seconds total. This was the longest and most time consuming and area consuming method of printing I’ve seen thus far.

So i cant print on a dark tshirt unless i lay a coat of white paint?

it's not a new product, it's a lazy way...i've been doing it 4 years ago..i only do this process to a raster art work, until now...so far so good, but manual screen print still got the sense :)

of course it was cotton but that is nothing special because you can always sublimate to cotton IF you prepare the cotton for example with polyamid powder, spray, printable HTV or in this case with a screen print.

tried this once and the subli ink was absorbed by emulsion, result is very fade colors

you already have a really heavy white underbase from screen printing, why not finish it with cmyk printing, this is very stupid. you can produce shirts way faster then this traditional screen printing. with less cost. and more then 1 at a time.

I Don't see magic here, its more of creating dark transfer paper with the help of silk screen. Its save money but the production is very long!

Dtg printers are slow, but not this slow. And a dtg is 1000 times better in print quality.

Two screen plastesol or what?

You cannot sublimate a black shirt. You cannot sublimate 100% cotton. Period. You are laying on a heavy layer of some sort of polymer and then dying that with sublimation. The polymer is still laying on top of the shirt and will crack and peel just like any other screen printed shirt. The beauty of sublimation is there is zero "hand" or feel to it, and it's moisture wicking abilities due to the polyester fabric. Why not use printed vinyl? It would give you the same effect, with less steps. This video seems misleading.

It looks like she used white plastisol to me. You can use white acrylic fabric paint thinned out with some matte finish acrylic fabric medium, I think.
