You won't notice the weight at all. LSC on the Jade X is super soft while I find the HSC to be a bit firm on high speed hits in fast rock gardens. The rebound is really fast as well. To me on a Banshee Rune it seems more like a good flow trail shock. It's still a good shock and prefer it over my Topaz but I'm not personally to keen on the stock tune. I'm currently messing with my own tune and in contact with DVO for their suggestions.

Just bought a V2 today and I am excited to experience the DVO suspension. Versions I demo'd all had the Fox. This was reassuring and helpful!

Awesome - you’re gonna love it! Just make sure the OTT dial adjusts with easy/light action (remember to take air out of form first) - you shouldn’t have to force it!

Running same onyx up front with jadeX in the rear. The jadeX is buttah, fully open the back.end feels so smooth i could barely feel the trail chatter, I like it on trail mode for hitting jumps and drops. I'm still dialing in the front, My OTT feels spot on but I'm not getting full travel on high speed hits. Currently @ 65 psi with about 20-25% sag.

That’s good intel on the Jade. I weight 205lbs fully kitted at 80psi and 25 sag and it feels pretty good ... I still might open the OTT further - i think I have 1 full rotation left

Hey foco, I got the Ripmo AF with DVO set up. Did your topaz come with the volume spacers already inside or did you have to buy them and put them in? Not sure if mine are in there...thanks!!! BTW loving the vids, keep them coming

It comes w 2 spacers in the positive and one in the negative … I added a 3rd in the positive chamber to make it a little more progressive. - THANKS FOR WATCHING BTW - make sure to share the channel w/ your riding buddies 🤘

Nice review man. Quick heads up on the OTT, which I also broke on my Diamond- I think you have to let all the air out (or most of it) in order to turn that dial to the desired setting. I wish DVO was more forthcoming about this or had some sort of warning.

How do you know when the OTT is broken inside, mine adjusts easily even with 55 psi of air in the fork?

@@ryanrobin12 not stirring the shit almost a year later but they have a sticker above the ott that says “release adjust ride” then says release air pressure to adjust ott. At least on my 2020 diamond it has one

You want the honest answer..... because it was the build my local bike shop had already ordered in size XL and I could pick up the same week I sold my V1! Looking at 6 month wait to order the bike with a specific build!!! In all seriousness, I have always been curious about DVO so I took the plunge!

Hey man, great review. I have the exact bike in an XL as well. I'm also 6'2 and about 205 ready to ride. When I bought this bike there were no larges and the way things were going with bikes I jumped on the XL. So far I love it but I cant help but wonder what the LG would have felt like. Were you able to try both before getting the XL? If so, what did you think?

When I bought my Ripmo V1 2 years ago, I demo’d both a L and an XL and I felt really cramped on the L. The L was a tad bit more nimble and “flickable” but the XL just felt better across the board.

@@robertgiggi1133 I bought a Ripley recently and I felt the same way. M was fine for my height at 5'9 but L felt much better. If you are enjoying your rides, that's all that matters otherwise you would know.

@@DM-hw4cr the reach difference isn’t really much like you say, but the wheelbase is almost 30mm longer on the XL. That’s what I was worried about most but it’s been a non- issue so far. The bike is just so nimble I don’t notice it at all👍🏻

Hi there ! New subscriber here I also have a bike club with a bunch of friends I will start putting your videos on the group. Big question what are your exact settings on the Fork and the Shock . I am 210 running 70 psi fork, 18 rebound from all the way +, no HSC , 12 ott. On the topaz I am at 208 psi with 3 bands on the positive none on the negative chamber. Can you please mention your exact settings?

I’m 205 - 80psi - HSC fully open (1), 13 OTT, topaz at 210psi (190 is the piggyback) and 2-1 bands in positive - neg chamber ... thinking about adding another band in each

@@FoCoFlowShow try and remove the negative band on your shock, traction will improve dramatically it may have a little Bob but you will be able to pedal better on the rocky sections.

Hi. Foco. Do you know how much stoke you have on your topaz? I have ripmo v2 topaz too. It says 210x55/50mm. So im not sure if the stroke is 55mm or 50mm. How did you measure sag? Thanks Foco!

The V2 is a 210x55mm shock. Sag is how much the shocks sits in its travel when sitting stationary on the bike and pumping the travel from the attack position … you usually need someone to hold the bike steady to do this… I usually shoot for 25% sag

@@akjw86 yea - I usually just eye ball it but that’s the right idea - if you can try a few different sag settings on the same section of trail with some steep sections or areas of high speed chunk to get a feel for what you like best

There is a 5mm spacer that can be fitted to the shock to reduce the travel for 50mm applications

I like the DVO a lot but in the end you can’t beat the fox factory 36 or 38 (depends on your weight and riding style). Heavier more aggressive riders should go 38

I order my Fesarri LA SAL comp and it come with the DVO suspensio same as yours..question can you compare it to the Fox, does it feels cheaper?, im just cuirious because geting my first bike and it come with the same suspension..

I wouldn’t say it feels “cheaper” - it’s not quite as smooth in the initial stroke but mid and full stroke feel super great… in the end I liked my Fox Factory 36 a little more but both are high performance - top tier suspension

Bought a 2022 used Ripmo AF yesterday. Two manuals online recommend entirely different air settings (one 2020, one ?). As well, recommended OTT is 12 for my weight; mine goes to no more than 10. WTF??

Not 3 inches - just 3 volume spacers - each one is only a few mm

I hope you're not putting 210PSI into the Topaz Bladder...It very explicitly states on the shock not to exceed 200PSI..

Yes - other way around - 210 in the shock - 190 the other way around

I’ve had more issues with the topaz… onyx is pretty close to perfect with it almost fully open using Ibis recommended tune … I found the ibis rec too light for the rear

@@FoCoFlowShow i tried both Ibis and DVO recommended settings. I still can’t figure out how to get rid of the high speed chatter up top when descending. Feels like I’m on a jack hammer but on the jumps / drops & chunky stuff, it’s buttery smooth. Any ideas on if I should add more OTT? I’m about 7-8 turns from full and rebound about 18 clicks.

1)Damping completely Open 2)Pressure Up,until you Like Support and traveluse 3) crank in Ott until IT Matches your taste 4) Use LSC For Chassis Stabilität and bobbing 5) HSC only For fine Tuning If Support/bottom Out Balance cannot be balanced properly.but Generally as much HSC as relly needed. LSR aß fast as possible only crank down until the fork does Not defect from ROOTS and Jackhammer you Over roots

Worth mentioning ripmo v2 linkage is more progressive than v1

@@markhamlewis4929 yes, but not radically more progressive, I found I kept the same volume spacers (1 neg, 4 positive) and pressure but enjoy more bottom out resistance. BTW, I am 150lbs kitted for riding

the dvo guide was way off.. i did follow the ibis guide for my RAF and its 100% spot on.

I found DVO recommendations for the Onyx to be too stiff, the Ibis a bit too soft so now I am a bit higher pressure than the Ibis recommendations (not not near the DVO recommended pressure) and adjusted the other settings to suit the pressure. I really like this fork.
