DV8 Violent Collision Review | SPECTO Data

Спорт

It's been nearly a year since the Brutal Collision launched and now its time to test the Violent Collision! Same asymmetrical core as the original with HK22 Havoc Pearl cover! Let's see how it does from all parts of the lane!
With the help of SPECTO data, it'll help tell the story about reaction shape, overall hook and continuation through the pins. Here are the SPECTO data points used and definition of each term:
Launch Speed - Speed measured off the hand.
Entry Speed - Speed measured at the pins. (What you'd see on your home center MPH screens)
Rev Rate - Revolutions Per Minute (RPM)
Launch Angle - The angle the ball traveled the first 10 feet.
Break Point Position - Board at which the ball was at its outermost position.
Total Hook - Total number of boards the ball crosses on the way to the pins.
Hook Power - Number of boards the ball hooked based on the True Breakpoint.
Entry Angle - The angle of the ball between 51 and 55 feet.
Impact Angle - The angle of the ball between 57 and 59.5 feet.
Pin Deck Exit - Ball position at the end of the pin deck.

I received the BC via a summer league I was in and I was pleasantly surprised by it for being a somewhat shiny solid. The VC looks the similar maybe a bit longer and cleaner due to the pearl cover but I think having the 2 would be a great combo.

As a side note on an editing side, it might be a cool idea for the initial intro/preview clips to have music instead of your voice for the sake of peaking interest without giving any spoils for the video. Great Video either way!

  • @brunsnick

I think it worked great from straighter. Didn’t run into any carry problems until moving way in with it. Should give you that extra little pop on the back being a strong pearl. 👍🏻

What made you choose the 60x5x20 layout? Why the 5 inch pin to pap and 20 degree VAL angle versus let’s say a 70x4x30. Just trying to understand the “why” for the Dual Angle layouts. Thanks!!

  • @brunsnick

    @brunsnick

    7 ай бұрын

@@burkeybkdb I typically reserve 4” pin to pap for bowling balls that don’t flare much. Having a ball over flare can be hard to control. 5” pin to pap flares plenty for me on asyms. I use the same layouts for asyms in these reviews in case I want to compare them later. Only exception has been my Black Widow which was drilled before I started doing reviews again. 👍🏻
