but it is a start. if the EU doesn't give permission he can rile up the people, because Wilders wants to follow the will of the people but Brussel is acting against the will of the people. so by denying Wilders the EU will make themselves the "bad guy" in the eyes of the Dutch citizens. and if Wilders keeps trying to change those (way outdated) asylum laws, eventually other European parties/leaders might do the same (we already have a few) and if those "allies of Wilders" get to a decent size, they will be able to make the change they want/need in the EU.

I guess it'll come to that. Italy, The Netherlands, they are moving closer to the position of Hungary and Poland. Germany is brewing right wing political views for a while now, and I remember Franch had something similar. My guess is that with the war in Ukraine, right wing parties are gaining leverage. People have been on board for quite a few years now (probably from 2015), but it was always the leftists that prevailed. The UK has the problem of woke culture in the military, but so do many other European countries. You guys have conservative public figures as well though, so I think we are getting closer to a turninv point.

It depend how "progressive" their governments are. I am not going argue if its good or bad but i will say this Europe have more then enough problems to fix and most pressing are living cost and housing crisis which is beyond crisis and people watching governments spending hundreds of billions on foreigners while their own citizens struggle to pay bills and give free housing when people can barely afford rent and absolutely not afford to buy their own property made people sour. Pendulum is real it swinged too far left so much it left their own people bite the dust so now we will se opposite swing this happened many times problem is it will tend swing even more each time until it broke and then continent is left in ruins. Also when you abandon your own citizens and let problems fester intimately they start calling for strong leader and radical solutions and it never good. As for overall EU issues nations finally needs to grow a pair and disband European council and put Von Der Lyen on trial and European parlament should take the power and vote on things as it was envisioned not dictate thru decrees by few unelected despots.

Sounds like a good balance. They are not saying no to asylum seekers, they are making it strict so it is harder to abuse. I am sure real asylum seekers will be glad even of this change. It is important to help people who are actually in need and part of that is to prevent abuse to the system itself. Hope it works for the Netherlands. It is a lovely country
